Growing up on a farm, Theta helped bridge her transition to college more smoothly. She appreciated the ability to always ask her sisters for help or advice. "I thought the girls were genuine and had real down-to-earth qualities," Lynn says. "I was thrilled to get that final bid to join the chapter!" One of her most fond memories was getting ready for football games on Saturday mornings. "All of the women would be fussing over their makeup, hair, clothing, and the excitement of the day and evening to follow," Lynn says. She also remembers a few late-night raids of Mom Hardy's Little Debbie stash. Looking back at all of the times as a Theta, she realizes it was such an important time in her life. "If you stick together, work out your differences, and embrace the positives in each other—that's a recipe for success," Lynn says. Lynn previously worked as an interior designer. From that standpoint, she knows how important it is to work and live in a functional yet pleasant space, both inside and out. The campaign addresses both of those areas and she's excited to see the final results. She encourages all sisters who haven't donated yet to get involved—every little bit helps. "I think donating is a very satisfying way of seeing your money go to a tangible project that you once called home," Lynn says. She and her husband, David, have two children, Laura (26) and Donald (23). Lynn co-owns family farms in Henry and Bates County, Missouri. She splits her time between their home in Springfield, Mo., and the farm homestead in Urich, Mo. In her spare time, she loves cooking, playing in the dirt, reading design books, skiing, and traveling. Lynn stays in contact with a few Thetas but would love to reconnect with more sisters.
