Arrests JessicaNicoleMaldo- nado:24,ofCorningwas arrested Monday in the area of 99W at Liberal Avenue. She was booked into Tehama County Jail on the charge of food stamp program violation over $400. Maria Aguilar: 31, of Red Bluff was arrested Monday at the Creekside Village Apartments on South Jackson Street following reports of a disturbance between a man and a woman. She was booked into jail on the charge of battery of spouse, ex-spouse or date. Fires 19600block Amen Lane: A Bowman area RV fire reported at 10:25a.m. Monday is still under in- vestigation. The fire was contained at 11:15a.m. Hillcrest Drive, cross of Fawn Lane: No injuries were reported in a vehicle fire that started about 2:39p.m. Monday. The cause is under investiga- tion. The fire was con- tained by 3:20p.m. Found Everett Freeman: Three check books, debit cards and a DMV envelope all with different names and addresses were found in a bag in the women's restroom at the Rolling Hills Casino. Suspicious 99W: A Starbucks em- ployee reported a cus- tomer in a blue four-door vehicle tried to pass off a fake $50bill. Chicago Avenue: A Corning city employee reported a shed may have been broken into. Elva Avenue: A man reported about 11:30p.m. Sunday he heard some- thing break inside his res- idence and later discov- ered someone had thrown a folding knife though his kitchen window. Kirkwood Road: Extra patrol was requested due to unfamiliar cars hanging out in a driveway at night and vehicles racing in the area. Theft Yolo Street: A UPS package was stolen off a man's porch Monday. Fig Lane: A blue and silver mountain bike and a pink cruiser bike were stolen sometime between 9and 9:20p.m. Monday from the Lazy Corral Trailer Park. Crittenden Street: A woman reported a theft from her vehicle during which she found a knife laying outside of it that did not belong to her. Threat First Street: A Corning resident reported about 12:30p.m. Monday a man known to him drove by his residence and threatened to beat him up. Vandalism 99W: Someone reported all the mailboxes at Friendly Acres Mobile Home Park were vandal- ized Sunday night. A sep- arate report of vandalism was called in about 5:30 p.m. in which the tailgate of a vehicle on 99W had been spray painted some- time Monday. Warning Countryside Drive, cross of Highland Bluffs: A warning was given to a man riding a bicycle through the area about 7:30a.m. Mon- day who was reportedly taking recyclables out of containers. Policelogs This recipe for beef stro- ganoff comes from Sunset Cook Book of Favorite Rec- ipes, 1969. Ingredients 2 lbs round steak, cut in strips inch thick cup salad oil Salt, recipe called for 1 tablespoon teaspoon pepper cup dry red wine 1 cup small whole on- ions, peeled, or 1 large on- ion, sliced 2 cups sliced fresh mush- rooms cup tomato paste 3 tablespoons flour 1 can (10 oz) beef broth 1 bay leaf, crumbled 1 clove garlic, mashed or minced cup sour cream Hot buttered noodles Directions Brown meat quickly in oil, then transfer to a 3 quart casserole; add salt, pepper and wine. In the drippings in the frying pan, saute onions until golden brown; add mushrooms and cook 5 minutes. Mix tomato paste, flour, beef broth, add to onions and mushrooms along with the bay leaf, garlic. Mix well, then pour over meat. Cover and bake in a 350'F oven for 1 hour, or until meat is tender. Re- move casserole from oven and slowly stir in sour cream. Serve with noodles.
