2 | Kappa Kappa Gamma The Undergraduate Chapter Today T he women of Beta Chi Chapter continue to excel on campus, in the Greek community, and within Kappa Kappa Gamma, ensuring they remain a top organization at UK. About Beta Chi • The current chapter size is approximately 350 with a fall 2016 new member class of 88 women. Average chapter size at UK is over 200 women. • Beta Chi has the third-highest GPA on campus out of 16 sororities. The spring 2016 GPA was a 3.51, which is above the all-women's and university campus averages. Awards • Honorable mention for Most Gracious Living Award at 2016 Kappa Kappa Gamma Convention. This is awarded to a chapter that exemplifies chapter graciousness, practices hospitality to each other and visitors to the chapter facility and on campus, and whose members have best acquired the art of living and working together harmoniously. • Selected as one of 17 Kappa chapters to receive GIRLS Academy. This will be our third year hosting the event. The academy consists of a day- and-a-half retreat where middle school girls discuss challenges they face, journal about their dreams, participate in a community service project, and are mentored by Kappa collegians. • First place in Lip Jam philanthropic event • Second place in Greek Sing philanthropic event • Inducted into Adelphe Society for generous donations to Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation Community and Campus Involvement • Donated 700-plus books to local elementary school children for Reading Is Fundamental • 2017 Panhellenic president • We celebrate the success of our members who are active in many different honorary organizations among them: Alpha Lambda Delta, Golden Key, Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Beta Kappa, and Phi Kappa Phi • Organizations Kappas are involved with on campus include DanceBlue, K Week Leaders, Army ROTC, Ad Club, Christian Student Fellowship, and Cats Peer Tutors
