Indiana sigma Chapter Indiana Sigma Brotherhood Remains Strong Emphasis on Fellowship and Philanthropy D espite the unusual circumstances at the Chapter house this semester, Indiana Sigma has continued to perform and enjoy our time as undergraduates at Indiana State University. The men of the Chapter came together for a brotherhood golf outing before classes began this semester. We followed up later that week with our inaugural Adopt-a-Highway project. Our highway is located just south of Riley, Indiana, on State Highway 159. Chapter Gains Strength in Numbers The undergraduate brothers enjoyed moving freshmen into the dorms and hosting events, including a car smash and whiffle ball and hockey tournaments, during the first week of school. We have initiated 19 men so far this semester without the use of our second and third floors of the house due to restoration. Our goal is to recruit 10-15 more men before the end of the spring 2017 semester. The Chapter is currently at 51 members. We look forward to our largest SAE graduating class in four years. Focus on Brotherhood, Philanthropy, and Athletics This semester, we have been focusing on service, brotherhood, and athletics as Chapter strengths. We offer opportunities to perform service with fellow brothers at least three weekends a month. Many brothers have also taken initiative and found their own organizations where they can volunteer. Our brotherhood continues to be a staple as event participation is high for our numbers. We also host brotherhood events, including bowling, tailgates, and many more. The trike team continues to improve as we raced in the top three teams until our university standardized bike got a flat tire. The cyclists are hungry to come back in the spring to battle for a tandem victory. Thankful for Alumni Support We greatly appreciate Chapter Advisor Stacey Gentry '89 an his continued involvement in the Chapter. He truly is an asset to the fraternity as a volunteer and brother. Stacey and the Chapter will be working on putting together a family alumni event in the spring. We hope to see many of you at the Chapter house for the alumni event next spring.
