You can help by supply- ing the chamber with any information regarding date, location, contact infor- mation, etc., of any major or traditional events that will take place in Tehama County next year. In addition to major events like the Red Bluff Round-Up in April, the cal- endar lists other popular events such as the Farm City Night in November and the Relay for Life in May. In order to make the list as complete as possible and not leave any event out, we ask several times for help in identifying these events with appropriate dates, etc. So please, if you know of any event already scheduled for next year, call the cham- ber office at 527-6220, fax the event schedule at 527- 2908 or e-mail the event schedule to jason@red- bluffchamber.com so that we can include them in the 2017 Calendar of Events. CORNING CHAMBER Se ni or H ea lt h an d Wellness Fair Thursday Raley's Food For Families has kicked off its 30th holi- day bag drive with the goal of raising 2.8 million meals to help local food banks meet the increased demand for food to serve thousands of hungry families and indi- viduals throughout North- ern California and Nevada this holiday season. Reflecting the nation's ongoing focus on healthy eating, Food For Families will continue to offer a va- riety of fresh and nutri- tious items. "Raley's Food For Fami- lies holiday bag campaign is an easy way to give the gift of good nutrition," said Becca Whitman, Food For Families executive director. "With a $10 donation, you are helping the food inse- cure in your neighborhood with staple items like pea- nut butter, tuna, bananas, carrots, potatoes, pasta and more." This year's holiday bag will once again include a gallon of milk, as up to 95% of food banks don't have enough milk to meet their clients' needs. Donations can be made through Dec. 31 at check stands in all Raley's stores. Individuals can make an online donation at www. foodforfamilies.org/donate or on Facebook. Raley's teams up with customers to provide 20 meals in each holiday bag of groceries. Food For Families part- ners with 74 food banks throughout Northern Cal- ifornia and Nevada to dis- tribute the food to help feed individuals that are food in- secure throughout the year. Funds raised directly ben- efit partners within that community. In 2015, more than 2.6 million meals were con- tributed by Raley's cus- tomers which equated to more than 120,000 bags of food distributed to lo- cal food banks. GROCERIES Food for Families drive celebrates 30 years According to the Cali- fornia Association of Food Banks, an average of one in eight residents in the state doesn't know where his or her next meal will come from. It's worse among children. One in four kids experiences food insecu- rity. To help boost dona- tions to local food banks during the holiday sea- son, FoodMaxx stores will once again hold the annual Holiday Give, Share, Care Drive, making it easier for shoppers to donate. At check-out, custom- ers can tear off a coupon and hand it to the cashier: $2 feeds one person break- fast, $3 feeds one person lunch and $5 feeds one person dinner. The coupon shoppers choose will be added to the grocery bill, and the tax deductible contribu- tion will be noted on the receipt. All donations go to the local food bank assigned to each store. Last year, the cam- paign brought in more than $240,000 collectively from 200+ stores for about 30 food banks through- out California and North- ern Nevada. Donations at checkout will end Dec. 27. DONATIONS Campaign to help food banks Rabobank is teaming up with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots pro- gram to ensure that less fortunate children in Red Bluff receive a gift this holi- day season.
