TEHAMA COUNTY HAS BEEN
AWARDED FEDERAL FUNDS UNDER
THE EMERGENCY FOOD AND SHEL-
TER NATIONAL BOARD PROGRAM.
Tehama County has been chosen to re-
ceive $56,140.00 to supplement emer-
gency food and shelter programs in the
area.
The selection was made by a National
Board that is chaired by the Federal
Emergency Management Agency (FE-
MA) and consists of representatives
from The Salvation Army, American
Red Cross, Council of Jewish Federa-
tions, Catholic Charities, USA, National
council of Churches of Christ in the
U.S.A., and the United Way of America
which will provide the administrative
staff and function as fiscal agent. The
Board was charged to distribute funds
appropriated by Congress to help ex-
pand the capacity of food and shelter
programs in high-need areas around
the country.
A local Board made up of representa-
tives of the Tehama County Board of
Supervisors, United Way, Catholic
Charities, Red Cross, Red Bluff and
Corning Ministerial Associations and
the homeless will determine how the
funds awarded to Tehama County are
to be distributed among the emergency
food and shelter programs run by local
service organizations in the area. The
Local Board is responsible for recom-
mending agencies to receive these
funds and any additional funds availa-
ble under this phase of the program.
Under the terms of the grant from the
National Board, local governmental or
private voluntary organizations chosen
to receive funds must: 1) be non-profit,
2) have an accounting system and con-
duct an annual audit, 3) practice non-
discrimination, 4) have demonstrated
the capability to delivery emergency
food and/or shelter programs, and 5) if
they are a private voluntary organiza-
tion, they must have a voluntary board.
Qualifying organizations are urged to
apply. Applications for funding may be
picked up at the Dept. of Social Serv-
ices, 310 So. Main St. in Red Bluff from
the Community Action Agency or down-
loaded from the web at www.tcdss.org
. The applica-
tion must be returned no later than 3:00
p.m. March 19, 2010.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the
Board of Supervisors of the County of
Tehama, will receive bids for the
"GERBER PARK IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT".
Bids shall be submitted on forms includ-
ed in the Project Manual. Copies of
Project manual and the drawings may
be obtained for nonrefundable payment
of $25.00 per set from Tehama County
Administration, 727 Oak Street, Red
Bluff, CA 96080, (530) 527-4655, Attn:
Cindee Brewer. An additional $5.00
payment is required to mail the bid
documents.
Copies are on file and open to public in-
spection at Tehama County Administra-
tion, 727 Oak Street, Room #202, Red
Bluff, California. Bid documents can al-
so be examined at the following loca-
tions: Shasta Builder's Exchange,
Redding: Valley Contractor's Exchange,
Chico; Sacramento Builder's Exchange,
Sacramento; and the Valley Contrac-

Bids must be received at Tehama
County Administration, 727 Oak Street,

later than 3:00 P.M. on March 16,
2010, at which time the Project Coordi-
nator will open said bids. Bids shall be
submitted in sealed envelopes and
marked in the upper left hand corner,
"Gerber Park Improvement Project",
together with the name and address of
the bidder. The bids will be opened and
read publicly and bidders or their
agents are invited to be present.
There will be a pre-bid walk-thru on
Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at 1:30 p.m.,
on site, at 520 Mariposa Avenue,
Gerber, California.
Bid bond, labor and material bond and
performance bonds are required. The
successful bidder shall commence work
within ten (10) days dating form the No-
tice to Proceed and complete all work
within 75 working days, thereafter. Liq-
uidated Damages in the amount of
$250.00 per calendar day will accrue
for each day the work is not substantial-
ly complete.
Pursuant to Section 1770 and following
of the Labor Code, the Contractor for
the work will be required to pay, at
least, the general prevailing wage rates
as determined by the Director of the
Department of Industrial Relations of

All Contractors and Subcontractors
shall comply with the provisions in Sec-
tion 1777.5 and 1777.6 and 1777.7 of
the California Labor Code concerning
the employment of apprentices. The
Contractor and any Subcontractor un-
der him shall comply with the require-
