Housing Manager Ryan Budde '18 Cincinnati, Ohio Memory and Our Mystic Shrine Robert K. Abbett '46 entered Our Mystic Shrine on June 20, 2015, at home in Bridgewater, Conn. One of his greatest joys was that his painting enabled him and his wife, Marilyn, to travel together while researching subjects and photographing clients. Bob's paintings are in private collections throughout the U.S. and the U.K., as well as in permanent collections at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, AKC Museum of the Dog, Genesee Country Museum, and the National Bird Dog Museum. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Robert; daughter, Linda; granddaughter, Amelia; and a great-grandson, two nephews, and four nieces. Raymond Kammer '50 entered Our Mystic Shrine on March 10. After retirement, Ray "refocused" his energies on photography and became an award-winning nature photographer. He traveled to all seven continents in a quest to capture nature at its very best. His beautiful captured images ranged from butterflies to pandas, Orcas to polar bears, snow monkeys to even penguins in Antarctica at the age of 80. He also photographed nearly every national park in the U.S., plus many state parks. His last trip was in August 2015 to photograph the Spirit Bears (white grizzlies) in British Columbia. Ray and his wife, Pat, were also founding parishioners of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Ray is survived by his wife, five children, and seven grandchildren. James Crump '53 entered Our Mystic Shrine on October 12, 2015. He was a resident of Mission Viejo, Calif., at the time of his passing. He is survived by his wife, Ellen. George "GR" Thomas '59 entered Our Mystic Shrine on May 4, 2015. GR was a long-standing businessman in the Chicago community and former real estate agent in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan; daughters, Cindy and Sandra; grandchildren, Nicole, Jenna, and Chase; and countless more family and friends. Alumni News William George '52 reports that he had dinner with Dave Bojrab '62 and Adam Cristo '61 in Naples, Fla. "We hadn't seen each other for more than 50 years. '56 has a grandson, Trevor Miller, who is a junior in high school. "I think he will knock on the house door in a few years." Thompson '58 and his wife, Elizabeth, finally joined their kids in Colorado. "It's beautiful: there's great hiking, camping, biking, motorcycling, and fly fishing. Owen '74 reports that he's practically retired and enjoys it very much. He and his wife, Betsy, celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary this summer.
