Every 2nd Tuesday of the month, the Quartzsite Senior Center Board meets. On the 1st & 3rd Thursdays, the Art Guild meets at 6:30pm. October 19th & 26th is BINGO w/ deli. Doors open at 5:00pm. Food Handlers Class on Wed. October 19th at 10:00am & 2:00pm Every third Thursday WIC is at the Senior Center at 10:00am. The Q Mountain HOA meets 2:00pm. Cigarette butts, for example, contain toxic chemi- cals that can end up in storm drains and contaminate our water systems. Trash and other items falling from unsecured loads can cause serious traffic accidents. According to Arizona law, "A person shall not drive or move a vehicle on a highway unless the vehicle is constructed or loaded in a manner to prevent any of its load from dropping, sifting, leak- ing or otherwise escaping from the vehicle." (A.R.S. 28-1098.A). According to the Arizona Depart- ment of Public Safety, violators could be charged with a class two misdemeanor and the fines, plus court costs, can range from $460 to well over $1,000, depending on injuries. Don't trash Quartzsite! Grand Opening planned Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting for Riggles RV Community and Event Center Come and join us for a ribbon cut- ting and Grand Opening of the new Riggles RV Community and Event Center on October 22 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The newest RV park in town has a beautiful building on the cor- ner at 240 N. Riggles Ave, just across from the Arco Station, and this will be an event center which can be used by any organization or group for their activities. The building has a kitchen, dry bar, dining room, ar- cade, and a big room with stage that can be used for many events. There will be a ribbon cutting cer- emony at 3 p.m. sponsored by the Quartzsite Business Chamber, and the VFW Post 769 will do a flag rais- ing ceremony at 5:15 p.m. There will be entertainment by Paul Winer and Steve Hohstadt in the afternoon and evening, and the refreshments include sloppy joes, hot dogs, chips and a beverage. Please come out and meet the new owners and managers of this newest business in town and show your sup- port for them. For further informa- tion, please call their new managers Nancy and Salty at 927-2091. Quartzsite Community Thrift Store is busy again. Thank you to our vol- unteers who worked through the hot summer months. Thank you to all of our customers who shopped and do- nated to keep the store busy through the summer. We were able to donate to Friends of Quartzsite Food Bank and Senior Center this month. We are now open six days a week. We are looking forward to our busy winter season. Thrift Store updates QIA opens Nov. 1 Quartzsite Improvement Associa- tion (QIA) will open November 1st. The office is open Monday through Friday from 9am - noon. Bingo will be starting up Nov. 4th. Doors open at 5pm. The popular monthly Craft Show starts up on Saturday, Nov. 5th from 9am-1pm. Dances, Music Jams, Pancake Suppers, Classes and lots of entertainment happens at the QIA!
