Bain 231 has instituted a Mason of the Month program to recognize and en- courage dedication and action in the lodge. The first honoree was David Jones, right. The young Mason has only been a Master Mason for a few months, but has been very active in lodge activities. He is seen here with his friend and Brother Vick Tart. WILSON — Four college bound young people here received T. Bruce Boyette Scholarships this year. Wilson 712 held a special banquet to present the $1,000 awards. Reid 344 and Acacia 674 sponsored a Flag Day event June 14 at their lodge. Colors were pre- sented, the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given, and a brief history of our flag was given. As the feature event of the evening, Boy Scout Troop 8 from the First Baptist Church in Jamestown conducted a Ceremony of Retirement. An explanation was given for the colors and stars on the flag. To conclude the ceremony, each per- son present was asked to place a retired flag on the pyre. — Michael Rinehardt A D V A N C E — Advance 710's newest member Jonathan Jarvis (left) is hold- ing the Bible his grandfather H.
