Strengthening the Bonds through Sisterhood and Philanthropy Theta Iota started off the fall semester by welcoming 50 new members to our chapter, making the Theta Iota Chapter total 187 sisters. Our new members have been busy with their meetings, learning about chapter history, chapter expectations, sisterhood, and much more. SISTERHOOD ON THE RISE This semester, we identified improving sisterhood as the top priority and are working hard to deepen the bond we already have with one another. To start off the semester, we had an all-chapter retreat where every member spent the afternoon participating in uplifting sisterhood activities. This was a great way for our upperclassmen to interact with the new members. LEADING THE WAY IN PHILANTHROPY As a Tri Delta knows, we feel a sense of pride and passion when talking about St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The recent K-State Panhellenic Philanthropy Report stated that Tri Delta raised the most money in spring 2016 out of 13 Panhellenic sororities, with all that money being donated to St. Jude. We raised a total of $32,123. This surpassed second place by more than $15,000. St. Jude is something so much bigger than ourselves, and I can speak for our whole chapter when I say we couldn't feel any luckier to support such an amazing cause. In this coming year, we hope to raise even more money for St. Jude and blow last year's number out of the water. ALUMNAE GROUP HONORED AT CONVENTION We are proud to announce that during Convention the Manhattan alumnae chapter received second place among alumnae groups with less than 30 members. Alumnae President Janet Whitehair Cooper '68 stated that the Manhattan group finished second to the Tallahassee, Florida, chapter. COME AND JOIN US On November 11, we will host our first ever Delta House of Pancakes (DHOP). We will be selling tickets prior to the event and at the door. Alumnae are encouraged to attend. It will be a large pancake feed with all proceeds going directly to St. Jude. We certainly have a busy semester ahead of us, and would love for any alumnae to stop by the Chapter House anytime you are in the area.
