Obituaries GLADYS V. DOBBINS Red Bluff. Gladys was born on October 12, 1914 in Wheeler Co. Nebraska to Jacob C. and Charity Hinkle. She was raised in Nebraska and lived there until her marriage to her husband Leo Dobbins. Leo and Gladys moved to Red Bluff, California with their two young daughters in 1937 to join her parents and siblings. Her main roll in life was being a wife and homemaker for her family. Gladys and her mother were Charter members of the First Church of God located in Red Bluff; where she continued to worship until she no longer was able to at- tend. Gladys V. Dobbins passed away at age ninety-seven in Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Leo in 1994 and infant son, Eugene Carroll in 1933; Brother, Stanley Hinkle and Sister, Frances Hill . Her surviving sis- ters are; Jean Philbrook of Eureka CA, and Joyce Jones of San Diego, CA. Surviving Children: Geri Cox and Family; Norma Bakerville and Family; Shirley McCarty and Family; Duane Dobbins and Family; Lorna Costa and Family. Survivors include: Eleven Grand Children; Twenty-Five Great Grand Children; Twenty-Three Great Great Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews. He touched us all with his kindness, his laughter, his jokes , his witts and his helpful hands. He will be missed but will always be in our hearts, our minds, our thoughts and our prayers. Man stealing food in Lake Cal punches woman, 70 A 21-year-old Ander- son man allegedly struck a 70-year-old woman Sat- urday night after she dis- covered him stealing food from a freezer at the Lake California Clubhouse. According to a Tehama County Sheriff's Office press release a 70-year- old employee of the Lake Club caught Austin Lee Wicks removing food from the freezer area. Wicks reportedly struck and pushed the woman in an attempt to flee from the scene. Wicks was detained by residents who were attending the fireworks show at the club. The woman com- plained of pain to her wrist and hip, but did not report any serious injuries. Wick was arrested on charges of second degree robbery, second degree burglary and elder abuse.
