INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SALARY AND CAREER OUTLOOK According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), computer support specialists can earn an average median pay of $51,470 per year. Many of these jobs require a diploma or associate degree. Employment of computer and information technology occupations is projected to grow 12 percent from 2014 to 2024, faster than the average for all occupations. BUSINESS SALARY AND CAREER OUTLOOK The field of business- and financial-related occupations is projected to grow around 8 percent between 2014 and 2024, which is as fast as the overall national average. However, the BLS states there will be a strong demand for accountants in the coming years, who earn a median pay of $67,190. HEALTH CARE SALARY AND CAREER OUTLOOK The field of health care is exploding — expected to grow a whopping 19 percent from 2014-24. Medical assistants are a big part of this growth. In this occupation, which requires only a diploma in many states, you can earn a median wage of $30,590 per year. MECHANICAL SALARY AND CAREER OUTLOOK For those who enjoy working with their hands and want to work in automotive, diesel or aviation mechanics, you can find occupations that are growing as fast as the national average. The median pay in 2015 for automotive service technicians and mechanics was $37,850. Aircraft and avionics equipment mechanics and technicians earned a median pay of $58,390 in 2015.
