By Mark Goldberg The McMullen Valley Chamber held a barbecue/fund-raiser for funds to maintain the Monument. The entire community was represented, with the Fire District, Sheriff, Chamber, service clubs & Community members working together to stage the event. Following a great BBQ, Linda Dar- land, M.C., introduced a moving video production portraying the horror and scope of the attack, with emphasis on the people it impacted. Follow- ing the video, the attendees sang the National Anthem. Gary Cole won the 50/50 drawing and donated the winnings back to the Memorial Fund. The event was also the first event of this year's LaPaz County Economic Development Corporation's, "Passport to Adventure" guide to communi- ties points of interest and events for the coming year.
