If people come to Tehama County to stay in our hotels or motels, visit our beautiful down- town merchants to shop at our quaint shops, or enjoy our extensive recreational opportunities and see all that Tehama Country has to past Chairs, are exceptional examples of individuals who eat, sleep and breathe to ensure the success of our Chamber. We now have an Ambassador Program in full swing thanks to the efforts of Greg Stevens. Walt Disney once said "If you dream it, you can do it" and Greg has done just that. Our Ambassadors are at rib- bon cuttings, they are out in the community discussing the bene- fits of membership with the Chamber and they are represent- ing our Chamber at networking and community events. I look for- ward to seeing this group thrive in the next year. We have some new Board I have some big shoes to fill as the incoming Chamber Chairperson. The office will be closed today and Thursday morning until 12 p.m. • Corning in the Evening - Wednesday, July 11, at 5:30 p.m., the monthly get together will be hosted by Seven Eleven Food Services, 1425 Solano St. Seven Eleven will be celebrating its 85th birthday so you are invited to come by and help them celebrate their birth- day. They are providing free 7.11 oz. Slurpees and you can have one hotdog for just 85 cents on 7-11-12 throughout the day. D.J. Janda is the owner of 7-11 and has owned the store for 9 years. D.J. and his wife Parm have three chil- dren and recently moved to Corning. 7-11 is the home of the Slurpee and the Big Gulp fountain soda. They also sell fresh sandwiches, and milk is delivered daily. They also sell money orders and phone cards. They have new promotions on a large variety of products. For Corning in the Evening bring your business card for a chance to win a prize. • Corning Museum - The Corning Museum Board of Directors is excited about having Jenessa Geer Lowden working in the museum this summer for her senior class project as a history major. Jenessa is the daughter of Roy and Debbie Geer of Richfield. She was also the Chamber's Miss Corning 2005-6. Jenessa has been working on categorizing all items in the museum and making folders for each donor and item. She has lots of wonderful ideas and plans for the museum but will need help. She is looking for volun- teers, financial support, and would like to increase memberships. If you have never been to the Corning Museum which is connected to the Chamber office, we hope you will stop by some time and see what is going on. Nilsen is an accomplished pianist and guitarist and his newest CD "Places to Go" is his first solo piano recording in twen- ty-four years. The recording features nine original compositions which colorfully combine elements of folk, classical and jazz. His forthcoming project will be a combination of guitar, piano, vocal and non-vocal. Nilsen has appeared with such luminaries as Jose Feliciano, Jesse Colin Young, David Foster, Alex De Grassi, Kenny G and many others. The Redding office opened in May, 2012 and con- tinues to add physicians to meet the growing needs of the community. The name change cascades from Catholic Healthcare West, Dignity Health Medical Foundation's corporate sponsors name change in Jan- uary to Dignity Health. Norman Arai, MD, a family practice physician who has been serving the North State area for more than 30 years in Anderson, was the first to bring his experience and talents to this state-of-the-art facility. Clint Evans, MD, also a family practice physician New name for Dignity Health Medical Group – North State who worked in urgent care in Redding, was the sec- ond doctor to join the team in June. Well-known Red- ding physician Richard Martinez, MD and his Physi- cian Assistant, Betsy Oppezzo, will start seeing patients at Dignity Health Medical Group – North State on July 5.
