Business Spotlight Celebrate this 4th of July with a visit to the Airborne and Special Operations Museum at the corner of Hay Street and Bragg Boulevard. With a full calendar of events, ASOM, as it is affectionately known, is usually bustling with summer camp groups, school trips and visitors to the area, but this is a perfect spot for the locals and their friends, too. Admission to the museum is free; however, donations are graciously accepted. Tickets to the theater show are $4 and tickets to the motion simulator are $5. If you want to do both, tickets are $8, and any person under 38- inches tall can ride the simulator for half price. Events during the year include celebrating National Airborne Day, Movies in the Camp, a popular Easter Egg hunt and numerous special military events. After visiting the gift shop, and on your way out, say, "Hi" to Iron Mike and visit the N.C. Field of Honor, located in front of the museum. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The museum is closed on Mondays except for federal holidays.
