S
ummer has come to a close and fall is upon us. We all know there
is something magical about Lawrence once the leaves change
and the air turns crisp. From waving the wheat at
football games, hanging out on Wescoe Beach before
class, and eventually, singing the Rock Chalk chant at
basketball games, we know that no school can boast
better traditions than KU. This year, we hope that you
will make it back to the place we all once called home
at 1015 Emery to meet the wonderful women who are
now the leaders of Beta Kappa and see our beautiful
Chapter house.
The Beta Kappa House Corporation won the
Outstanding House Corporation award for house
corporation-managed chapters with a house at
Convention in Orlando this summer! We would not have been able
to receive the award without our board members, both collegiate and
alumnae, and without the amazing relationship with our collegians
living in the Chapter house.
We have completed our renovation of the bathrooms on every floor of the
Chapter house! I want to thank our donors, and especially the collegiate
members for their generous donation, without which we
wouldn't have been able to do the bathroom renovation
debt free. I don't know if the House Corporation would
have received our award at Convention without the
awesome relationship we currently have with the Chapter
and the trust they have in us.
Read more about the project on page 2 and see how
easy it is for alumnae to work together to make a big
impact on the Chapter house and well-being of our
collegiate members. I hope you will come visit Beta
Kappa for Homecoming on October 22. We would
love to see you!
