Always Alpha Phi 6 Alumnae News Silent Chapter Sally Dobson '60 entered the Silent Chapter in February. She was a resident of Florissant, Mo. After leaving her 25-year career at the University Bookstore (UMSL), Sally enjoyed the slower pace of retired life. She was the mother of Kimberly and Stephen, and grandmother to Nick, Sam, Christopher, Clayton, Tayler, Alan, Tori, and Drew. Alumnae Update Mary Koppenbrink Clement '44 still lives at home in Higginsville, Mo., with two "spoiled" cats. She has two daughters and one granddaughter. Jane Carr Lucia '44 reports that in July she turned 92 and is in good shape, except for her eyesight. She lives with her son and his family in Castle Rock, Colo. Her daughter, Barbara, and granddaughter, Julie, live nearby, so she is able to see them often. Vera Ray Plesko '46, Pontiac, Ill., turned 90 years old in June. She taught kindergarten for 28 years. Her husband, John, who passed away in February, was the general manager of the Pontiac Daily Leader in Pontiac, Ill. John and Vera met at the University of Missouri through Alpha Phi sister Fonda Wingfield Agee '44. Vera has six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She makes her home in Montrose, Colo., with her husband, Ross. They have four children, six grandchildren, and a great-grandson. "It's the prettiest house on the MU campus." Jane and her husband travel a good deal. They have three children and attend many family activities with nieces and nephews in Columbia, saying, "All are Greeks of one kind or another."
