"Nancy Ferguson '65 was my pledge mother and scholarship chairman during my years at Omicron. I owe my success as a student to her wise counsel and mentorship. A good friend, she listened carefully to me and then helped me make good decisions to establish good study habits. She was always encouraging and supportive, and for this I will forever be grateful. Sharon Williams Korte '68 was also a wonderful friend during my time at Omicron. One of my best college memories is visiting with her and her family in Western Springs, Illinois, one winter break. We had a great time together in Chicago that holiday, one of many sisterly moments that we shared in our college years." -Jo Ann Redman Wann '64 Always Alpha Phi 2 G iving: S ister-to- S ister "Sara Nieters '06 has been an amazing and loyal friend since we lived in the house and annex together our sophomore and junior years. We became fast friends and were nearly inseparable by our senior year. Though we have been separated by thousands of miles since graduation, we have made a point to keep in touch with visits and phone calls. I'm truly thankful for her friendship and know it will continue for many years to come. Many of my favorite Alpha Phi and college memories include her and I look forward to creating future memories." -Amanda Hoffman '06 Here's what our sisters had to say about who they gave in honor or in memory of during this special campaign. "Sarah Schooley '93 and I were roommates one semester. She was great! She was happy, fun, and always full of cheer. Sarah made me and others better people. Her untimely passing was very sad. I still think about her all of the time." -Nicole M. Wilson '91 "I'm giving in honor of Mary Jane Robinson Moorman '65 because she was such a wonderful pledge mom and has been a special friend." -Marilyn Kohler Curtis '67 "My mother, Esther Hund Richart '84, and I give in honor of all my sorority sisters with whom I lived during my college years in 1980-84. Not only did I find lifelong friendships and wonderful college memories, but those women honored my mother's chapter support (she volunteered at the Alpha Phi table during recruitment and served as the Alpha Phi Mother's Club President) by initiating her into Alpha Phi as an alumnae initiate—all without my knowing! This was something that took several years to accomplish, by different Omicron executive boards. My mother has created her own Alpha Phi memories with her continued involvement in our local Alpha Phi Alumnae Chapter, as well as her continued service to our fraternity. I am so proud of my mom and I will always be grateful to my Alpha Phi sisters who took the time and effort to initiate her into our sisterhood." -Robin Richart Beck '81 "Laurie Warder Letts '67—my best friend who introduced me to my husband of 48 years." -Bonnie Lawrence Volpp '67 Three generations of Omicron Alpha Phis: Robin Richart Beck '81, Megan Beck Brethower '08, and Esther Hund Richart '84. All three of the Beck family's Alpha Phi pins on Megan's bridal bouquet. Many Alpha Phi sisters attended the ceremony.
