page 3 sigma phi epsilon Brothers at the Meet the SigEps event that took place during summer recruitment in July. A s we begin the fall semester, things are looking up for Florida Nu. This past year, we have achieved the top GPA amongst all fraternities, came third in intramurals, increased the size of our Chapter, and sent one of our members, Matthew Sabates '18, to Ruck, which is one of the top leadership institutes offered by Sigma Phi Epsilon nationally. We have also expanded our amount of community service by doing different activities such as beach cleanups, working with children with autism, and partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, which is the national philanthropy of SigEp. We are very excited about this upcoming recruitment session and also about our Balanced Man scholarship award that we give out annually at the beginning of the fall semester to incoming freshmen that exemplify our values of virtue, diligence, and brotherly love. This year, we received 181 applications, a large increase from the submissions we had last year. This large volume of applications also gave us an edge in recruitment, providing us access to freshmen who would make great fits to our brotherhood. We were able to see their heavy involvement in extracurricular activities in high school while maintaining a top GPA. I am also looking forward to continuing to work with Karen Katz, a SigEp sweetheart who is the president of the alumni advisory council for Florida Nu. In addition to Karen, we will also have a resident advisor from National HQ, Zac Gillman, Tennesee Eta '15, who will be working very close with the Chapter as we work to get back to being on top. I have had the pleasure of working with Zac for the past year while he served as the regional director for numerous chapters and I look forward to working with him much more closely since he is exclusively responsible for helping Florida Nu and Florida Alpha (University of Florida). We appreciate your continued support!
