ByPatriciaMartin Desert flowersare beautiful. The variety of desert flowers is amazing. Even a brief study shows that each flower has a su- preme ability of adapta- tion to growing condi- tions. Some might com- ment, "Nature has made them able to withstand difficult conditions." However, nature doesn't exist without creation by the Creator — God Al- mighty. Desert flowers are more than just a form of beauty for admiration. They also sustain life and are part of our food chain. Honey bees feed upon the desert flower in many areas, spread- ing the needed pollen. Rabbits and other wild- life feed upon the deli- cious flowers. Wildlife is smart enough to abstain from munching upon the desert rose in Mex- ico, for the sap is poison- ous. Nature, whoever that is, did not give them such knowledge — Almighty God did. While our eyes feast upon the beauty of many desert flowers, we al- most overlook the dry and parched soil, even cracked from lack of moisture, from which the flow- ers are growing. Yet, the lovely flowers are strong and healthy, demonstrat- ing life and radiant splen- dor. But let us remember, beauty, splendor, strength for living, sweet aroma, life giving properties, and ability to adapt in diffi- cult situations, are all pro- vided by the Master De- signer of this universe, Al- mighty God. Are you one of God's creations? I suppose you must first decide if you are a product of na- ture or a creation of God. If you are a creation of God, then you possess even much more ability to adapt to your own per- sonal life situations. Like the desert flower, you can thrive even on parched land. If you are a child of God (see John 3:16, John 1:12, 1 John 5:12) you pos- sess God's creative ability to "grow where you are planted." As a child of God no storm, no wind, no rain of adversity, can "wash you away from the love of God." Romans 8:38- 39 states, "And I am convinced that noth- ing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, nei- ther our fears for today nor our worries about to- morrow — not even the powers of hell can sepa- rate us from God's love. No power from the sky above or in the earth be- low — indeed nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is re- vealed in Christ Jesus our" (NLT). When we are in God's love, we are to- tally safe. It is so vital that Christians remember this truth, especially in today's world. Did you know that one of God's names is El Roi, meaning, God who sees (see Genesis 16:13, 14)? This can either bring comfort to the soul or fear, depending upon our relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. The solid and dependable love of God is found only through knowing Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He stated the following: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father ex- cept through me" (John 14:6 NLT). Nature is not God, for God is the one. His plan of redemption and reconciliation be- tween Himself and us is through His Son. When we repent of our wayward ways, turn away from sin, turn to Jesus for forgiveness and restora- tion, dedicate our life to follow Him, invite Jesus into our life (with all of our heart, sincerely), we will pass from death unto life. "For He has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of His dear Son, who pur- chased our freedom and forgave our sins" (Colos- sians 1:13-14 NLT). If you have not given yourself to Jesus yet, you can pray today for the gift of salvation and eter- nal life, through receiv- ing Jesus as Savior and Lord. He won't turn you away. The Bible clearly states that whoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved. (See Romans 10:13). God does not require that you do certain works and clean yourself up before com- ing to Jesus. Salvation is a free gift for all people! It is about having a per- sonal relationship with Jesus Christ, God's Son. "But as many as re- ceived Him {Jesus}, to them He gave the right to become children of God; to those who be- lieve in His name" (John 1:12). You can receive Je- sus into your heart today, and have eternal life. "He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life" (1 John 5:12). Begin living your new life today. A free New Testa- ment is available for any- one deciding to follow Je- sus now. Please feel free to email me at godspre- ciousjewels@att.net to make arrangements to receive your NT.
