3 Sigma Chapter of Delta gamma * NorthweSterN UNiverSity f ollowing a busy few months, the women of Sigma chapter closed out winter quarter with Dance Marathon and initiation. With our dancing partners from Zeta Beta Tau and Alpha Iota Omega, we raised more than $179,000 for Blessings in a Backpack. Additionally, we rounded out the quarter by initiating 100 percent of our new members in a meaningful and reflective Initiation ceremony. Our women are proud to have achieved two scholastic distinctions this spring: the second highest GPA on campus and second highest GPA of all Delta Gamma collegiate chapters! We are incredibly proud of these achievements. After spring break, we started the quarter with a Founders Day celebration with the women of the North Shore alumnae chapter and Eta Mu of Lake Forest College. We greatly enjoyed sharing the ritual and lunch with so many sisters. For the chapter retreat, members bonded by bouncing around on trampoline courts at Sky High Sports and shared pizza and memories in the downtime afterward. We also had the opportunity to share DG with our families during Parents' Weekend, which included an art museum tour, the Waa-Mu show, and a Sunday morning brunch. We also took time to honor the 34 graduating seniors at our annual senior banquet dinner. Philanthropy was still a focus in the spring, and we hosted a new service event called Delta Jam. We hosted children with visual impairments and crafted musical instruments from recycled boxes with them. It was a hit! Several members served on committees for NU's Relay for Life event, and our team definitely spread hope to everyone involved. Sigma chapter looks forward to another successful academic year, but we happily reflect on the past year of sisterhood, philanthropy, and wonderful Northwestern memories.
