PAGE 4 UPDATING THE SHELTER T he Delta Shelter at 1320 College Ave. in Norman was constructed in 1969. It has housed hundreds of Delts and has held up fairly well, considering its age and the obvious wear and tear. Delta Alpha's Building Corporation and a small group of concerned Delt alumni hired architect Mark Krittenbrink in 2014 to inspect the Shelter. Mr. Krittenbrink is an excellent architect who has designed several of the new Greek houses at OU and elsewhere around the country. He also designed big renovation projects for other properties at OU. After his inspection, Mr. Krittenbrink told us that he felt we did not need to tear down the existing house and start over. Instead, he gave us fairly detailed plans for a complete remodel and upgrade of the Shelter. Mr. Krittenbrink also consulted with the undergraduates. The undergraduates consistently said they like the existing rooms and bathroom setup, but would like to have much better heat and air and, of course, technology.
