Police Department
Awarded for Increased
United Way Participation
The Fayetteville Police Department has been
awarded for their increased participation in the
2009 United Way fundraising campaign. The
department received the Paul T. Hodul Award for
having the most improved employee campaign in
Cumberland County for organizations with
200-plus employees.
Numbers indicate a 40 percent increase in
fundraising, going from $17,240 in 2008 to
$24,530 in 2009. Employee participation increased
by 170 people.
Department employees were educated about
United Way through personal contact, including
meetings and telephone calls.
The department's totals were a part of the City of
Fayetteville's overall fundraising efforts, which
equated to $74,872 raised for United Way of
Cumberland County.
