I am a chamber member and focus on shopping locally first. I believe in keeping money lo- cal whenever possible. I attend community events and donate to several organizations. 6. We need to organization our- selves in a manner that we are taking advantage of opportunities and funding that can help us grow as a community. Several issues are of concern: economic development, water, and sewage to name just a few. Recommendations should be heard and acted upon from the many committees that currently in place. This town needs to come to- gether if it wants to grow and pros- per, this is accomplished through solid leadership that has one thing in mind, the community. 7. While the position of Mayor is not a full time position, I do feel strongly that my background in business and academics put me in a position to help attain, organize, and utilize resources. I love this little town and I want to do what I can to make it even better than what it is. STARR BEARCAT 2. Position Seeking: Quartzsite Town Council Member 3. In my work- ing experience, I have supervised on many levels; First Responder for a facility of 1500 people, repaired everything from Large Boilers to Life support Equipment, owned my own successful company in elec- trical and electronic interfacing. I'm retired La Paz Constable with a multitude of AZPOST Certifica- tions. Also a Freelance Videogra- pher, and a published author. 5. Documenting Quartzsite Events, Promoting Quartzsite in a Posi- tive light, Currently Vice Chair of MUAC Advisory Board. Very active in the community. 6. Securing sustainable fresh water at a fair and reasonable rate; solv- ing the waste water sewer issues so Quartzsite can grow into the future; find a way to get quality schools, support medical facility that ad- dresses the needs of the communi- ty including Pediatrics, Elder Care, Veterans Resource Center, Special needs Resource center, Psychiatric Care, Affordable Dentistry, Vision Care. Find companies willing to come to Quartzsite year-round, work with the Businesses, educa- tors and Community to provide the workers that are needed. Just to name a few things to be addressed. 7. I am an "Outside the box" prob- lem solver who is forward think- ing. There are no problems that do not have a solution. Continue to have an open door policy, Listen to the citizens con- cerns, Treat everybody fair. MONICA TIMBERLAKE 2. Position Seeking: Town Council 3.Facebook – Monica Timberlake 4. I was elected as board mem- ber for Quartzsite Elementary School District. I have a Masters in Boardsmanship from Arizona School Board Assoc. (ASBA) I serve on the ASBA Nominating Commit- tee, Governance Committee and Governance Task Force. I serve as Chairman on Parks and Rec, and Health and Development Boards. I'm a Director for Quartzsite Cham- ber of Commerce and Tourism, a member of La Paz County Tour- ism Team and Proud Neighbors of Quartzsite. Being a member of varied organizations and commit- tees has given me the opportunity to work well with people of differ- ent backgrounds. I have good com- munication skills and am able to negotiate and compromise for the betterment of the organization I'm representing. I'm very well trained in open meeting law and parlia- mentary procedure with over 200 continuing education credits.
