SIGEP SETS THE STANDARD FOR EXCELLENCE T he spring 2016 semester was a great one for Florida Epsilon, marked by excellence in all aspects of Fraternity and campus life, including recruitment, social events, service, and brotherhood. Members also excelled academically, earning the second highest GPA out of 22 fraternities last spring. Brothers Recognized for Profound Leadership One of the best things about being a Florida Epsilon is being able to support brothers who are making a difference in the Chapter and throughout the University. Nathan Molina '16 was elected president of the Student Government Association at FSU and we are eager for what he has in store during his term. James Doyle '18 was awarded New Member of the Year on behalf of the Interfraternity Council (IFC) for his outstanding contribution to the Greek community, and Michael Themidies '19 was awarded Up and Coming New Member of the Year at our formal in New Orleans. We are extremely proud of these men for their commitment to raising the bar and representing Florida Epsilon in a positive manner. Recruiting Future Leaders Last spring, we welcomed 18 new members into the Chapter. These promising young men have already started to find their place within Florida Epsilon and we look forward to what they will accomplish in the years to come. Members Raise More Than $3,000 for CVA This year, we hosted our inaugural Vets vs. Cadets flag football game to pay respect to our veterans. University President John Thrasher '66 attended this event and we raised more than $3,000 to donate to the FSU Collegiate Veterans Association (CVA). Chapter Secures First-Place Victory in Philanthropic Events Our Chapter is making its mark on campus. This year, Florida Epsilon brought home a first-place win in Pi Beta Phi's All Fraternity Revue and in Tri Delta's dodgeball tournament, which benefits St. Jude Children's Hospital. We participated in Phi Mu's Bonnamu philanthropic event, which is a battle of the bands competition where different fraternities create a band and perform live at The Moon. Our Chapter also participated in Relay for Life on campus and Dance Marathon, which raised over $1 million for Shands Hospitals. Florida Epsilon looks forward to what the future holds. Thank you for helping make our Chapter what it is today and we hope to see you soon.
