6 S eabury loves keeping up with our alumni! Below are some of their whereabouts and recent accom- plishments. Emily Kotay '03 works at the University of Arizona as an advisor for students applying for nationally competitive scholarships. She fills her free time singing, learning foreign languages, and traveling. Aaron Landis '03 lives in Austin, TX, where he works in development for the Austin Habitat for Humanity. Beth Ruhl '05 works full-time in Kansas City as a chaplain for the Saint Luke's Hospital Emergency Department. About three quarters of her time is spent in the hospital, and the other quarter is spent in classes and supervi- sion where she learns about spirituality and psychology theory. Beth says, "It can be very joyful and sorrowful work at the same time. It is definitely changing me, and I don't have words to put all of my experiences yet." Kevin Byun '06 lives in Korea and runs his own cosmetic business, which he started in early 2015. He sells his products in Canada, China, and Korea. Kathy Chung '06 moved to London in 2015 and works at Bloomberg as a financial products analyst. Adam Davis '06 Adam reports that, "Life here in the desert in Tucson is going well. I work for a pharmaceutical company selling raw chemical compounds to compounding pharmacies in KS, OK, and LA." Katie George '06 works at a nonprofit affordable housing developer in Los Angeles. She created and now oversees the statewide supportive ser- vices program for residents with limited incomes, including older adults, individuals with developmental disabilities, and individuals who have been homeless or in the foster system. "I really enjoy the work and the people I work with, so things are good!" Nick Strole '06 is studying French, researching the 20th/21st century French/Francophone theater to earn his Ph.D. Hae Chan "Aaron" Chung '07 graduated from University of Illinois in May 2015. He works for Johnson and Johnson in South Korea selling med- ical devices, which are used for cancer surgery. Aaron plans to come back to the states to attend chiropractic school at some point. Justin Esau '07 was married in the summer of 2015 to Allison, whom he met at William Jewell College. They moved to Chicago, and Justin teaches English at Hinsdale Central, a school in a suburb of Chicago. He teaches a senior English course called Discussion and Debate, which focuses exclu- sively on argumentation and debate. Min-Kyu Lee '07 graduated with an electrical engineering degree and went back to Korea. He works as an electrical construction engineer for Samsung C&T and lives in Thailand for his current assignment. Jenn Crawford Malloy '07 graduated from Creighton University School of Dentistry in May 2015 and then moved to Las Vegas. In June 2015, she left for officer training at Maxwell Air Force Base in AL, and then moved back to Las Vegas in August to start an advanced education in general dentistry residency at Nellis Air Force Base. Karel Hill '08 works in Topeka as a software developer. Erika O'Shea '08 is working toward her MBA on a full-tuition scholarship at UMKC. She lives in Kansas City while still performing on the side "to keep things interesting." Erika performs as a mermaid, with fire, plays music, and as a living statue. "I'm doing a bit of everything. It's fun," she says. Julia Davidson '09 lives in CA, and is working on her graduate thesis in dance studies at Mills College. Bria Phipps '09 works as a student at a rehab hospital in Lincoln. She says, "I'm ready to graduate, that is for sure!" Pete Esau '10 is in graduate school at Kansas State in kinesiology (exer- cise physiology) and helps with research in a cancer research lab. Jamie Fischer '10 is majoring in administration of justice at Johnson County Community College and works as a human services assistant at the state department for child and family services in Overland Park. Calli Noller '10 sold her grooming business to go back to school to earn an associate's degree in hotel and lodging management. Calli has worked at The Oread and The Eldridge as a front desk agent since March 2014 and she loves it. Shannon O'Shea '10 is studying advertising at KU. She has an internship with Staples Advantage and formed a bluegrass band called Kansas City Hustle that she plays with in her free time. Nick Lutz '11 is finishing up his degree in strategic communications and a minor in film and media studies. Nick is also an assistant coach for KU cheer. Last summer, he was selected to be on a circuit around the country teaching college cheerleaders. In January, Nick tried out for the USA com- petition cheerleading team. Alex Sisson '11 lives in Charlotte, N.C., with his partner. He is working on his degree in ASL interpreting and plans to attend Gallaudet in Washing- ton, D.C., once that is completed. William Wolfe '11 graduated from Sewanee University in May 2015 and moved to Washington, D.C.. He interned last summer at the Episcopal Church Office of Government Relations doing legislative policy and jus- tice advocacy. RuLan Bai '12 is double majoring at UC Davis. Charlotte Burch '12 studied Interior Architecture at DIS Copenhagen, Denmark, for the spring semester. She will complete her studies at Pratt Institute in the fall. Guangwei Fu '12 is a senior at the University of Wis- consin-Madison and double majoring in engineering me- chanics and astronomy. Georgi Funtarov '12 enjoys the college life and playing basketball. He has earned several academic awards during college. Georgi reports that basketball is going well and that last year the team won their conference. Patrick Shields '12 is studying computer science with a minor in business at KU. Hannah Spomer '12 finishes up at the University of Oregon this year and then will attend law school. She still has horses, but does not compete very often anymore. Emily Arnold '13 says nursing school is going really well. Courtney Hoag '13 plays basketball for Baker University. Olivia Taylor-Puckett '13 has taken some time off from school to pursue an internship with the Kansas Farmers Union.
