Kids Without Cancer (KWC), run by Robert Carey '13, Jake Glaser '13, Josh Vertes '13, and Drew Ohlrich '13, is a club founded four years ago by former Phi Psis that works in association with the parent organization based out of Detroit, Michigan, as a non-profit to raise money toward pediatric cancer research. Events range from organization-wide, such as the Motor City Quack Attack, to university-based, student- run events, such as the popular hot dog eating contests. This club raised over $1,300 this semester. Other events this semester included charity hockey games with Phi Kappa Psi, Phi Gamma Delta, Pi Kappa Alpha, and Chi Psi. Active brothers contributed 60+ hours to ensure this event ran smoothly. The event gained national attention for its success, and the total money donated to the American Cancer Society from ticket and jersey sales is still being calculated. Chapter Awards Chapter executives and brothers demonstrated all sorts of leadership and initiative throughout the semester as we proudly accepted the University of Michigan's IFC Philanthropy Award, Alumni Award, and Chapter President of the Year Award. It will be difficult to follow and surpass the achievements from this past semester, but the newly elected executive board led by Ben Russ '14 is preparing for another successful year.
