However, executive producer Julie Plec reportedly has made a pact with Dobrev for her to come back for the series finale, which isn't to say it might not happen soon- er if all of the involved parties want it to. Q : Are the Showtime shows "Homeland," "The Affair," "Masters of Sex" and "Billions" going to restart? And if so, when? — John Watrous, Colum- bus, Ohio A : Let's take a wild guess which network might be your favorite. The short an- swer is "yes," all of those se- ries will be back. "Masters of Sex" has had a midsummer start the past couple of years, and though no premiere date for Season 4 had been an- nounced when this was writ- ten, it likely will be back soon. "Homeland" and "The Affair" are traditional fall starters, so you can look for them again in September or October. Finally, "Billions" probably will have a January debut again when it launches its sophomore round. The show is said not to have a direct relation to the current "Star Trek" movies (the latest of which, "Star Trek Beyond," opens in mid-July), but it's interesting that some of its creative forces have had con- nections to the franchise. Executive producer Alex Kurtzman co-wrote the 2009 "Star Trek" film reboot and "Star Trek Into Darkness"; co-creator and executive pro- ducer Bryan Fuller wrote for the series "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" and "Star Trek: Voyager"; and writer and consulting pro- ducer Nicholas Meyer co-wrote and directed the movies "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" and "Star Trek IV: The Undis- covered Country."
