The AreTê pg. 2 T he new annex project continues moving toward completion. The exterior finish is complete and ready for paint. The rough-in work for plumbing, electrical, sprinkler system, and fire alarm is complete. The next steps will be insulation and interior drywall. Another major portion of the work is site utilities, including water, sewer, natural gas, and electrical service. This work is near completion and will be followed by concrete retaining walls, additional area added to the basketball court, and patio and sidewalk paving. As can be seen from the photos, the main floor of the annex is at the basketball court level with doors from the group study room opening to the court. The building contains the same 15 student rooms originally envisioned. From the street, the annex design emulates features of the Lodge and will have colors that match portions of the Lodge. The goal is to create the fraternity as a complex of buildings centered on the court. The mid-summer completion is on schedule with occupancy being ready for the 2016 fall quarter.
