4C Daily News – Thursday, May 31, 2012 Salisbury High School Salisbury High School Vista Middle School Vista Middle School Elementary School Los Molinos Vina Elementary School Forrest Leon 11th Grade Forrest Leon started at Salisbury High School in January 2011 deficient in credits but with a goal to graduate early. He has worked hard to overcome personal issues and still get his work done. Forrest brings an outstanding effort and determination to all aspects of his life, including his education. Because of Forrest's positive attitude and focus on school, he consistently makes Honor Roll and has been awarded the Elk's Student of Quarter award along with being named the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) Student of the Year. Forrest will meet his goal of graduating a year early as a junior in May! Sponsored By: Red Bluff High School Gabriel Romero 12th Grade Gabe came to Salisbury High School at the beginning of last school year. Gabe has a great sense of humor and loves to joke with staff and students alike. Gabe loved participating in both our soccer and basketball teams when we played in tournaments. He was also a docent at the Wm. B. Ide Adobe State Historic Park last year and never misses an opportunity to help out. Gabe loved cooking class and never complained about the clean up. Gabe was awarded the Elk's Student of the Quarter in November 2011 and made Honor Roll several times. Garrison Koeberer ` is a Vista Middle School eighth grader that is "shooting for a purpose". His goal is clear, to become a weapons engineer by attending California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo. Garrison is well on his way to achieve that goal. How is he doing it? Garrison says "I am organized, focused in class, stay out of trouble, and am responsible". He has maintained a perfect 4.0 G.P.A. for two years at Vista and plans on attending Red Bluff High where he will strive to earn a scholarship for college. He also enjoys reading, hanging out with friends, and playing video games. He participates in lacrosse, basketball and soccer. Behind every successful student is usually a very influential adult. Georgia is definitely the latter. Her infectious smile, positive attitude, creativity, and commitment to excellence in her studies, make her an asset in all her classes. During her time at Vista, she has maintained a 3.95 cumulative G.P.A. while playing on the basketball team, yearbook club and excelled in the computer programming and robotics club. After her completion of studies at Vista Middle School, Georgia hopes to keep her grades up throughout high school and begin volunteering at a local veterinary office to gain experience working with animals. With this experience and her academic abilities, Georgia hopes to earn a scholarship to attend UC Davis, where she plans to study Veterinary Medicine. Sponsored By: Los Molinos High School Gillian Coehlo 8th Grade Gillian Coehlo is an 8th grader at Los Molinos Elementary School. She is wrapping up an outstanding school career as she gets ready to move on to high school. Gillian has had a 4.0 GPA throughout all the grades until this year. She has improved her 4.0 to 4.14 since she is taking Geometry at Los Molinos High School. Gillian is the first student in the district to do this and all she has done is achieve a 98% in the class. Even though she has a difficult academic load, Gillian takes part in many extracurricular activities. She plays basketball and volleyball for LME and is the ASB President as well. Despite the pressure of being this busy, she can be seen walking around with a big smile on her face and enjoying time with her friends. Rodriguez 7th Grade Heather Gillian plans to attend Mercy High School and do many of the same activities she enjoyed in Los Molinos. After high school she will attend college with the ultimate goal of becoming a dentist. Even if she changes her mind, there is no doubt this young lady will be successful in anything she chooses! Not only is Heather an excellent student, but she excels in athletics and is a natural leader among her classmates. This year Heather maintained a 3.83 grade point average while playing volleyball, basketball, and softball. Heather earned all- tournament honors at the Lake Volleyball Tournament as well as the Kiwanis Basketball Tournament. In addition, Heather is the secretary of the student council and is always available to lend a hand to her fellow students. All of us at Vina School are very proud of Heather and cannot wait to see what the future holds for her.
