Sponsored By: Runnels 8th Grader Derek Derek Runnels is an eighth- grade student at Manton Elementary School. He is a responsible and conscientious student that is kind and considerate to everyone. Derek has been on the Honor Roll for all three quarters this year, was awarded Student of the Quarter during the first semester, and received the Citizenship award earlier this year. In addition to being a top-notch performer in the classroom, Derek has proven his abilities as a musician and athlete. He plays fiddle and mandolin in the Bluegrass Music Program and participated in volleyball and basketball during the 2011-12 season. His prowess on the court earned him many awards including MVP and All-Tourney at many tournaments. Derek also received the Physical Training Award the past two years.
