MANTON CONTRIBUTEDPHOTO The Manton Music and Art Program will be host- ing a concert, dinner and silent auction fundraiser Saturday, May 21 at Cedar Crest Vineyards, 32505 Forward Road in Manton. The Manton Music and Arts Program is a non- profit music education program for children. It has been in operation for more than nine years, ex- isting on donations and fund raising events such as the annual Bluegrass on the Mountain event. The schools of Manton, Paynes Creek and Mineral do not have a music pro- gram provided to them through the school dis- trict. The program pro- vides violin, guitar, banjo, mandolin and vocal les- sons to students at no cost to the family. The program has one paid music teacher and three volunteer teach- ers. Organizers are seek- ing auction items from or- ganizations and business throughout the county to feature on the sponsor list in advance. Your donation will be confirmed by letter and may be tax deductible. Items needed include gift certificates, products, restaurant gift cards, gift baskets, cash donations and scholarship donations to students. With your donation, the program will be able to purchase new instru- ments; sound system equipment for live perfor- mances and instructional aids and repair existing equipment to help con- tinue the program. Last year, students had the opportunity to per- form at local senior facil- ities.
