Membership Grows and Spring Events Raise Awareness for Local Organizations
L
ast fall and this spring have been incredibly successful for our Chapter.
With a large pledge class of 22 in the fall and nine in the spring (two
mid-semester), we continue to make strides toward becoming the largest
Fraternity on campus.
The spring semester has been incredibly successful for Chapter events,
including St. Pats, philanthropy, service, and intramurals. While we were
not able to win St. Pats, we will learn from our shortcoming and do much
better in the future. Even so, we bonded as a Chapter to make a great
cudgel, a beautiful float, and placed third.
Our main spring philanthropy event, Fish Fry, was incredibly successful.
There was a great turnout, and due to this we were able to raise nearly
$3,700 for charity. While this is our main event for the spring, we continue
as a group to raise money for a campus-based activity, Out 'Til Midnight,
by going to local businesses. Service this semester has gone well. A large
group trip to Great Circle, an organization that helps children and teens in
need, during our day of service was incredibly helpful to the organization.
This, along with a few other small service events, such as helping a local
food pantry, had large turnouts and very high participation among the
Chapter.
Intramurals this spring have been going great. With an average amount
of participation, we've had a lot of success in our competitions. These
sports have not only helped us bring honor back to the Fraternity, but have
bonded our members by going as a group to the events and cheering on
our Brothers.
The spring semester has gone very well as we continue the achievements
of our Chapter and look to set new goals to hold ourselves to the high
standards that we attempt to maintain.
