FARMHOUSE FRATERNITY 4 FARMHOUSE BACK ON TOP Nebraska Chapter Raises over $25,000 for Charity F rom the entire Nebraska Chapter in Lincoln, I hope this finds you well and enjoying the first signs of spring. Whether in academics, service, faith, or athletics, FarmHouse men are delving into their work this semester to continue our fraternity's tradition of excellence. ACADEMICS A PRIORITY After placing first in academics among fraternities last spring, scholarship remains in high regard among our members. The past two semesters our chapter achieved 3.454 GPA to remain among the top three fraternities in academics. To continue improving, Scholarship Chairman Bryce Byman '15 plans "to create new traditions to develop intellectually, particularly through a friendly academic competition and tutoring program." MORE THAN $25,000 RAISED FOR PHILANTHROPIES Philanthropically, we raised nearly $25,000 this past year. Most recently, Fiesta Feed with Alpha Xi Delta and Raising the Roof with Alpha Chi Omega raised $8,472 for Autism Speaks and $5,600 for the Friendship Home. Our Be the Match Brunch added 49 potential new donors to the bone marrow registry. In addition, we've partnered with Eastmont retirement home and Food Bank of Lincoln to support these organizations on a weekly basis. Philanthropy Chairman Brady Ball '14 is "excited to continue our chapter's excellence in service as we improve upon philanthropies, and shoot for our end-of-year goal of 4,000 service hours." WELCOMING NEW BROTHERS On January 24, friends and family saw 20 new members welcomed into Nebraska Chapter at Westminster Baptist Church, and they were joined by three new members at semester. We are excited to see them grow as leaders within the fraternity. LEARNING FROM LEADERSHIP CONFERENCES Several executive members attended the FarmHouse Leadership Institute while the recruitment team participated in FarmHouse GROWS. Both FarmHouse International conferences allowed our officers to develop new chapter goals, including restructuring chapter committees to improve effectiveness. ACHIEVING GREATNESS ON AND OFF CAMPUS FarmHouse members continue to distinguish themselves in their personal endeavors. Matt Foley '15 and Michael Greufe '14 were named to Mortar Board, while our intramural volleyball team won the all-fraternity championship. Junior Taylor Bolam '14 is in Washington, D.C., for a semester internship and senior Tanner Hannappel '13 was accepted into UNMC for medical school. Recent graduate Bryce Dibbern '12 was also recently named an outstanding CASNR Leader. We are extremely proud of each and every one of these member's accomplishments. Whether through the social media campaign, "Be Social, Be Safe," or representation in prestigious honors societies, we will strive to exemplify leadership and brotherhood in all that we do. I would like to thank alumni for your continued support of the chapter and encourage you to participate in alumni events, such as the Homecoming golf tournament and banquet planned for later this fall. Lastly, I welcome you to stop by the chapter house anytime to meet our members, relive old memories, and experience the positive things in store for FarmHouse.
