The Lyre Letter 2 W armer weather is starting to appear, and along with that comes a fast-paced spring semester! So far this semester, we've had a blast at Greek Week activities, the "What Not to Wear" date party, Healthy Relationships Week, sibling's weekend, and Mom's Weekend. Looking ahead to the rest of the semester, we're eagerly awaiting initiation and formal. Besides all of the fun activities we've had, our chapter has had the privilege of welcoming six new members into Gamma Zeta. We love getting to share our sisterhood with them, and can't wait to see how they benefit our chapter! We had our third annual Dodge Domestic Violence dodgeball tournament to close out Healthy Relationships Week in February. Twenty-four sorority and fraternity teams played in our tournament, and we raised more than $1,700 for the Manhattan Crisis Center and Relate 360. We enjoyed getting to meet and build connections with other Greek life members from across campus. I've loved getting to serve these past few months as president for Gamma Zeta. It's so joyous to see the rest of the executive board members thriving and transitioning into their positions so well. Attending Leadership Academy in January was definitely a highlight for my semester thus far. I was able to meet presidents from many different chapters, and we still keep in touch. It's so nice having support from other Alpha Chi Omegas around the country! We would love to have you stop by the house this spring! You're always welcome back home at Gamma Zeta. ACW A t 90 years young, Delores Wright Jennison '47 still has a vibrant personality—similar to when she first joined Alpha Chi Omega. Looking back on her time as a charter member, she realizes it was very different than what current Gamma Zeta members experience. "We had to conduct the business of the chapter without much of the Alpha Chi Omega history," Delores says. "We didn't have an actual house until my last semester." Once they moved into the chapter house, she especially enjoyed dinners and singing with the other chapter members— particularly around Christmas time. After graduating from K-State, she maintained a strong connection to the chapter. "Alpha Chi gave me continuity with some of the members," Delores says. In fact, she still keeps in touch with Edith Levadhl McDonald '45, Lillian Lacey Moss '47, and Betty Williams Hess '65. Being a member of Gamma Zeta placed a great deal of importance on her life through lifelong friendships, and for that, she is forever grateful. Before retirement, Delores was a high school math and physics teacher for 25 years. She remains very active and loves going to church, Bible study, Kidz Club, playing the piano, and gardening. One of her favorite hobbies, however, is spending time with her children (Rolland, Sharlin, Kevin, and Tindel), grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. Delores lives in Latham, Kansas.
