MU MESSENGER Spring 2016 Volume 6 Debbie Seebold Evans, Editor DG E xciting things are happening in Columbia as our house corporation continues to make critical decisions and check things off its to-do list. • Although there is always red tape, the City of Columbia has agreed to our variances (height restrictions, setback requirements and number of parking spaces). As traffic patterns along Providence Road change, we on the corner are directly impacted, so this is a huge step. • The chapter women are being given the opportunity to rent apartments in the same complex (furnished or unfurnished) so they can be together during the time they are displaced. • The newly built Delta Upsilon chapter house will serve as our "home" during recruitment 2016. • Slowly but surely, memorabilia is being removed from the chapter house and put into a climate-controlled storage facility. • The date for required move-out in May has been set, utilities will be turned off and the official dismantling of the building will begin. The collegians are very enthusiastic about their future! They are the ones who are directly affected by our rebuild project, and their excitement and cooperation are truly an inspiration. We are, as the logo says, Anchored in Tradition: Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future for them. As others have done before, and we are now doing, the current chapter women will be carrying on our legacy. Their attitude regarding the upheaval in their lives is very important to us, and this attitude is very positive. We thank those who have pledged their loyalty to Mu chapter by your participation in this endeavor. We are grateful for you! To those who have said, "I want to give something, but I just don't know right now," NOW is the time! Surely you want to be part of this amazing undertaking.
