3 ALPHA DELTA PI Alumnae News Betty Thomas Bailey '46 recently moved to Montereau Retirement Center in Tulsa, where nine ADPis live. Glenda Johnson Sappington '48 and her husband, Bob, lived in Ponca City, Tulsa, New York City, Houston, and Saudi Arabia before retiring to San Marcos, Texas, in 1988. They have three children and eight grandchildren and now reside at Pinnacle, an independent retirement complex in New Braunfels, Texas. Gladys Berg Winfrey '53 enjoys retirement and has been active in A.A.U. for more than 50 years. Almeda Kessler Crook '54 keeps busy for an 80 year old. After teaching physical education for many years, she enjoys retirement. Her hobbies include traveling (she has traveled to all 50 states and 39 foreign countries), reading her Kindle, playing bridge every week, and taking water exercise classes. She is still connected to some of her ADPi sisters. She and Nancy Hunt Wirth '54 have been friends since 1953! Sara Spradling Myers '58 moved to Yukon, Okla., after her husband, David's, death in 2011. David was a State Senator for 10 years, representing five counties in north central Oklahoma. They also lived in London, England, in the early '90s. Ginann Edwards Manchester '60 reports her husband died in a car wreck in 2006 at age 70. Their oldest daughter and husband have two children who are both are graduating in May 2016 from OSU. Ginann's daughter teaches at Bishop McGuinness in Oklahoma City and her son lives in Edmond with his wife and three younger children, and sells homes in Norman. Her youngest daughter lives in Canada with her husband and 8-year-old son. Ginann lives in Norman, Okla. Linda Skewes Holt '61 moved to Lakeway near Austin, where her children live. She has three young grandsons who keep her busy. Carole Devero Hood '62 retired in May 2005 after working as an art teacher in the Humble Independent School District in Humble, Texas. She and her husband's two children are married and each have two children. Carole feels blessed to have both children and their families living not too far from them. She enjoys painting with acrylics. Anne Vickers McMurtry '62 has lived in Stillwater since 1970 and retired after 35 years as a realtor in 2013. She also retired from 17 years on the Alpha Omicron House Corporation Board in March 2014. Today she enjoys volunteering at the Botanic Garden at OSU, singing in chancel choir at the First United Methodist Church, and meeting new Stillwater residents at the Stillwater Newcomer Club. They recently joined a group from church that traveled to Israel, which she says was a life-changing experience. Her on-and-off career included architecture drafting and landscape drafting—her two loves. The couple's daughter, Shannon, is a physical therapist, and their daughter, Amber, is an attorney, wife, and mother of three girls. Janet Reed Clark '65 moved to McKinney, Texas, in 2009, and her mother lived with her for the last three and a half years of her life. She moved to be closer to her daughter and her family. They visit children and grandchildren in Missouri and Georgia often. Her son, Brandon, will graduate from the University of Alabama with a Master's of Fine Arts in Technical Direction and lighting in May of 2016. Delma and her husband are in the process of building a new house after theirs was destroyed in a fire in April 2015. Julie and her husband, John, live in Colleyville, Texas. Julie works for Verizon. Patrick is married to Katie Tipley MacDonald (OSU 2010) and they moved from the Houston area to Dallas to be closer to OSU. Debbie has become involved in OSU Women's Council in Dallas.
