We represent more than 2,000 women, from collegians to Golden Arrows. In this issue, we feature women from eight decades! One of those women is Sheryl Hansen Mandala '84. I loved running into Sheryl and her daughter, Kelly Mandala '15, at the chapter house prior to Parents' Weekend. Although she lives in Greenwich, Connecticut, Sheryl makes frequent trips to California to see Kelly, other family and friends, and has reconnected with her Pi Phi roots. Recently, Sheryl purchased four bricks for our donor wall, more than any other alumna. In addition to buying a brick for Kelly and herself, Sheryl also purchased bricks for her mother-in-law, Joan Neely Mandala '59, and Joan's sister, Nancy Smith Neely '58. Thank you, Sheryl! Mary Laird Holman '54 is profiled in this issue. She is involved with both USC and Pi Phi and you'll love reading about her on page 3. As I think about Cal Gammas who have touched my life, I wanted to mention the passing of Jane Hoffman Popovich '62 last summer. When I lived in the house, I admired the plaque in the Music Room that bore Jane's name. She was a donor not just to our chapter, but a significant presence at USC, and was involved in a number of organizations benefiting our university. A special connection for me was that Jane's father- in-law, an eye doctor, saved my grandfather's eye when a branch fell into it on our family's orange ranch in Los Angeles. Our fellow Cal Gamma Jennifer Popovich Allen '85 is Jane's daughter. For more information about Jane, please visit www.legacy.com/obituaries/ pasadenastarnews. On page 2, Chapter President Lizzie Yaeger '14 writes about the fun the chapter had when the Ring Ching Roadshow and "Libbie" the car recently visited to gather stories of sisterhood for Pi Beta Phi's 150th anniversary in 2017. In 2017, we will also celebrate our chapter's 100th birthday! We will hold a special event to mark the occasion and will have more information for you soon. As always, your Chapter House Corporation is busy with spring projects at the chapter house. Currently, we are working to upgrade our Wi-Fi, improve our air conditioning, and complete the fundraising for our kitchen. There is no shortage of work to do to keep the house safe, comfortable, and workable for the amazing young women in our chapter. We have so much to be proud of, and so many strong, wonderful women of all ages as our Pi Phi sisters. Thanks to all of you who have donated your time and your contributions to our Fraternity.
