the PLan Phase ii –
the new Beta OmicrOn hOuse
W
e remember the Beta Omicron house on Shoal Creek as a home
away from home in Austin. We learned from each other and grew
into the men we are today. Whether it was meeting our best friends or
future wives, the house will always hold a special place in our heart as
definitively Beta.
Losing the house in the early 2000s due to long-term debt was an
unfortunate lesson we must remember today. As alumni, we all hold a
deep responsibility to ensure the Chapter has a safe and modern home
away from home to spend their college years as Betas. This campaign
must address this need head-on.
The vision is to acquire a property by 2018. With five-year commitments,
the Texas Beta Student Aid Fund will be in a position to ultimately provide
a home for our undergraduate Betas.
"My excitement about the recolonized Beta Omicron Chapter has only increased with the initiation of such an outstanding
group of young men in February. I have visited with many of the new members of Beta in Austin and have been extremely
impressed. The strict admissions requirements at Texas these days (and the fact that U.T. is truly a world-class University
with amazing faculty, facilities, resources, and endowment) means that the young men we are attracting to Beta Omicron
will be the future leaders and successful entrepreneurs for our great state. The Men of Principle program is a game changer
that will allow the alumni of the Fraternity to engage with these great young men and ensure that our Chapter will be the
leader on campus for a positive, sustainable Fraternity experience. If you will take the time to hear about this tremendous
new direction for our Fraternity, I am certain you will come away impressed and enthusiastic for the future of our Chapter.
I highly encourage everyone to join in supporting this great new beginning for Beta Omicron." – Craig Clayton '82

Beta Omicron alumni must be committed to providing sustainable,
safe, and competitive housing to the new Chapter.
