While the proposed route largely follows the existing Southern California Edison Devers-Palo Verde 500kV transmission line in an established utility corridor, there are a number of potential alternative routes in the study area that could be considered by the BLM. The BLM is seeking your input on the proposed Project and potential alternatives to the proposed route as part of the public scoping process. Three Scoping meetings will be held to introduce and describe the Project to the public and to solicit feedback from the public regarding the Project and potential alternatives. PROJECT WEBSITE: http://www.blm.gov/az/st/en/prog/ energy/10_west_link_transmission.html COMMENTS DUE MAY 9, 2016 On or about March 28, 2015, Quartzsite Police Department (QPD) received a call and information of damage to the entrance solar lights at the Hi Jolly Cemetery. Also, QPD located damage to the chain link fence from somebody attempting to cut the fence open. QPD and citizens find this unnecessary criminal behavior to be very disrespect- ful to all the beloved family members and their descendants buried at the Hi Jolly Cemetery. The Hi Jolly Cem- etery Board of Trustees has spent a lot of time and effort acquiring the funds to improve the cemetery entrance and grounds. We take this criminal behav- ior very seriously and will pursue all violators for criminal charges. Quartzsite Police Department is ask- ing anyone with information about the damage at the Hi Jolly Cemetery to please contact the Quartzsite Police Department at 928-927-4644 or Detective Mike Lancast- er through his email address of mlancaster@quartzsiteaz.org. La Paz County Sheriff's Office said there are two different telephone scams that are being reported in the Parker/La Paz County area(s). The first is a group claiming to be a collection agency for A.P.S. They have been calling people/ businesses and asking for payments over the phone. They threaten to turn off your electricity if you don't make the payment. This is a scam. A.P.S. will never call you and ask you to make a payment over the phone. When they call, simply hang up and do not give them any information. The second scam is a group claiming to be with the Internal Revenue Ser- vice. They will call the person and tell them they're about to be arrested for Tax Fraud, and the person has to call immediately and make a payment. Both groups are asking people to go to a business where you can wire money (Walmart or Western Union) to pay the fine/bill. Please be aware of these scam artists and let your friends and family know not be a victim. Phone scams
