Founders Day Celebration A ctives and alumnae met on Saturday, January 23, at the Lafayette Country Club to honor Kappa Alpha Theta's founders: Bettie Locke Hamilton, Alice Allen Brant, Hannah Fitch Shaw, and Bettie Tipton Lindsey. It is especially meaningful to have our newest Thetas together with alumnae to celebrate the vision, values, and dedication of these four women in their creation of the first Greek-letter fraternity for college women. A s we enter the second century of Alpha Chi Chapter's history, I am happy to report the Educational Foundation is making a difference in the facilities and in the lives of the women living at 607 Russell Street. Now that the campaign has ended, your Educational Foundation is entering into the next phase of its mission: we are collecting funds for scholarships to be granted to actives in the chapter. During the Centennial Gala, we awarded our first grants of $500 each. During Mother's Weekend, an additional and larger round of awards will be made. These grants are distributed based on a member's demonstration of outstanding scholarship, leadership on campus and in the chapter, and service on campus and in the chapter. In order to make a difference in the lives of our members, we do need to grow the scholarship funds. Donations can be made online at www.alphachithetas. org or mailed to the Alpha Chi Theta Educational Foundation, P.O. Box 3754, West Lafayette, IN 47996. All donations are tax deductible and every donation, regardless of amount, is appreciated and helpful. For more information, please contact me.
