Founded 1912 • Michigan alpha chapter oF SigMa phi epSilon at the univerSity oF Michigan • Spring 2016 I hope you're enjoying a safe and prosperous 2016 so far. The Michigan Alpha Alumni Volunteer Corporation (AVC) thanks you for your continued support of our operations and commitment to building on our past while looking forward to the future of Michigan Alpha. The AVC would like to extend heartfelt congratulations to Treasurer John Kapusky '69 on his retirement from more than 40 years of working at Ford Motor Company and more than 15 years on the AVC. John has been instrumental to the long-term success and financial stability of both the AVC and the chapter in addition to serving as a great mentor to many members through the years. On behalf of the AVC, I want to thank John for his years of service and dedication to Michigan Alpha. We will be honoring John and others who have given their time, talent, and resources to the centennial campaign at an event in Ann Arbor this fall. Keep an eye out for more details as we get closer. While we begin to transition and start the process of identifying a replacement for John, please let us know if you are interested in joining the board as treasurer or in any other capacity by e-mailing Alex Prosperi '10 at apjp32@gmail.com. We are always looking for engaged and active alumni to keep the momentum and energy of the chapter alive and well. District Governor Sam Moschelli, Lawrence Tech '00, has brought back the 1901 Club of Detroit with a full slate of events lined up for 2016. In January, alumni were given a private tour at The District Detroit Preview Center, followed by a networking reception and panel discussion on leadership lessons at Hockeytown Café moderated by 1901 Club of Detroit Co-Chairman Joe Luellen, Lawrence Tech '97. In February, alumni visited Valentine Distilling Cocktail Lounge in Ferndale for a presentation by Valentine on its premium distilling process, a mixology how-to of a few signature cocktails made from Valentine Distillery spirits and insights into public speaking. In March, the 1901 Club participated in the Detroit Passport to the Arts. If you're not already receiving e-mails about these events, please e-mail Alex Prosperi for more details. The last edition of the SigEp Wolverine thanked the more than 250 alumni who donated more than $1.13 million to our Pride in Our Past, Foundation for the Future campaign. We owe a significant debt of gratitude to those who gave so generously. For those that would like to continue giving back to our annual campaign or haven't yet, please feel free to send your donations to Sigma Phi Epsilon Michigan Alpha Alumni Association, P.O. Box 130992, Ann Arbor, MI 48113-0992. Thank you for your dedication to Michigan Alpha.
