I decided to interview for the Panhellenic Executive Council immediately after the Southeastern Panhellenic Conference in March of last year. Our former president, Carlton Middlekauff '12, recommended that I go to represent Kappa Delta that weekend, and I really enjoyed getting to know last year's executive council. Also, I really wanted to be a part of the recruitment planning process because I am so proud of the growth that The University of Alabama is experiencing, and our Panhellenic sororities are growing exponentially right now. What does Panhellenic unity mean to you? To me, Panhellenic unity means building relationships among each of the sororities on campus, whether it be through service work, hosting events, or working together on campus. I came into freshman year knowing women in sororities other than KD, and I have enjoyed expanding my social group beyond just those in my Chapter over the past three semesters. What are you responsibilities as vice president of administration on the Panhellenic Council? As vice president administration, my main responsibility is planning Greek Week, which took place February 29-March 4. I worked with the vice presidents of IFC, UGC, and NPHC on campus to plan a bowling night, dodgeball, basketball, and Greek Sing; the sing and dance competition at the conclusion of the week. I am also responsible for helping the other council members with planning recruitment, community outreach, and in any other way they need assistance. What are you hoping to accomplish through your role in Panhellenic? Through my role in Panhellenic, I would like to work on relationships between chapters on campus as well as relationships with the other three Greek councils. I also want to increase Greek presence at UA by encouraging sorority women to get involved in more hands-on community service opportunities, rather than solely fundraisers. Do you have plans to continue serving on Panhellenic after your term as administrator ends? I do have plans to continue my role on Panhellenic for the 2016- 17 school year, hopefully serving as president of the Alabama Panhellenic Association.
