Indiana sigma Chapter Invaluable Lessons Learned at EA Institute 2016 I n January of this year, I had the pleasure of attending the EA Institute hosted in Chicago, which was a great opportunity for leaders of SAE in the undergraduate levels and beyond to brainstorm and collaborate on how to take their organization to the next level. We thoroughly enjoyed participating in a session led by SAE Brother Ed Fuller, Massachusetts Beta '68, who is the former president and marketing director of Marriott International. His knowledge and experience in management was invaluable. Members of the Supreme Council and SAE alumni volunteers also served a vital role in the weekend of education. INDIANA SIGMA CHAPTER CONTINUES TO GROW As of the 2016 semester, we successfully opened one suite on the third floor of our Chapter house and will fill every bed for the fall 2016 semester. We are excited to have welcomed 30 quality new members during the fall 2015 semester and three new members to our first spring 2016 recruitment class. These new members bring our total active Chapter to 46 members. Furthermore, we have had the highest turnout at brotherhood events, such as bowling at Imperial Lanes and soccer at the SRC, in the four semesters my recruitment class has been active. LINKEDIN PAGE IN THE WORKS TO HELP UNDERGRADUATES MAKE PROFESSIONAL CONNECTIONS A few months ago, Indiana Sigma attempted to create our own LinkedIn page; however, we had difficulty spreading the news to our alumni base. We learned from Indiana Beta at Purdue University that this page has potential to be a fantastic source for Indiana Sigma active members and alumni to connect professionally, and we are hopeful we can get our page up and running. Every year, Indiana Beta has numerous graduating seniors taking internships or jobs with alumni they've connected with via LinkeIn, and I know we can do the same, if not better. Please contact me for more information regarding launching a LinkedIn page for Indiana Sigma. We are also working with Indiana Beta to help set up an active Alumni Advisory Board at Indiana Sigma. If you are interested in volunteering or have suggestions, please contact Cody Logsdon '17 at codylogsdon@rocketmail.com or Stacey Gentry '89 at gentrystacey66@ hotmail.com. We are thankful for our encouraging and generous alumni who continue to support the Indiana Sigma Chapter, and we welcome any who are in the area to stop by, say hello, and check out the Chapter house. We would love to swap stories and learn more about our brothers who came before us and afforded us the same leadership and brotherhood opportunities that they received.
