(530) 527-4140 foranOpenandFairTehamaCounty Superintendent Selection Process: Concerns: Why have some staff been informed (threatened) they will be fired if an outside person is selected as Superintendent and others fear retribution if they speak up? The surveys used by the board to gather information are biased and slanted to favor selection of the single in-house candidate. Why did the Board ask both Tehama County School Administrators and Dept. of Education Employees to recommend the names of candidates for Superintendent, yet did not give the general public the opportunity to recommend candidates? The Board is allowing Non-Tehama County residents to apply when, if one is running for this elected position, the candidate must be a registered voter. Why is the Administrator of Human Resources, who has written a strong letter of support to each board member advocating for the in-house, non-resident candidate solely in charge of handling the applications and survey data? Why did the board make an attempt to appoint the in-house, non-resident candidate at the February 9, 2016 rushed, short-notice special board meeting? The outgoing superintendent, who was forced to resign because of the loss of his professional credentials, continued to advise the Board and support his hand picked successor. Why is it so important for the outgoing superintendent to be so concerned with who takes his place? All influences of the previous administration should be removed from the process. Why has this Board discounted the election process that took place in 2014 that included a highly qualified candidate that obtained 48.65% of the vote and has gone outside of Tehama county looking for applicants? Make your voice heard and attend the upcoming board meeting on March 9, 2016 at 4:00 pm at the Lincoln Street County Office Help support your board in an Open and Fair Selection and Appointment Process! | NEWS | REDBLUFFDAILYNEWS.COM TUESDAY, MARCH 8, 2016 2 A
