T he construction contract has been executed, the worksite is fenced and secured, and interior demolition is underway. In mid-January, MO Alpha celebrated groundbreaking of our restoration of 101 Burnam. Some alumni may have been thinking, "I'll believe it when I see it." It's now time to believe. Over the next eight months, $3.5 million worth of renovations will occur. Don't worry— during demolition they were able to preserve the Budweiser tiles from the Bud Room. The chapter room and Stauffer Study will remain accessible to allow the chapter to meet throughout the semester, which is particularly important with 16 spring pledges. Starting the construction phase is exciting; however, we still have over $200,000 left to raise toward our $1.5 million goal. If you have not already helped out, the time to give is now. The project is a reality, and we need the support of every brother to achieve success. Each dollar raised will help reduce financing needs and keep the chapter in good financial standing and allow us to compete with residential housing and other fraternities. In the fall newsletter, we announced the pledge class participation chal- lenge—an effort to increase participation in the Proud to Be a Phi capital campaign. I am happy to report that our challenge is working. Since the fall, we have added 42 new donors and increased our participation per- centage to 16%. Brothers from all eras are getting involved and pledging to support MO Alpha as we begin renovations. See an update of the class participation percentages on pages 2-3. My sincere thanks to all of our donors—your gifts are truly appreciated. The legacy that you diligently built during college continues today, but we must all do our part as alumni to ensure that it stands for many gener- ations more. I hope you will consider your own role in these efforts and that you will use the enclosed form to make your gift to Phi Delta Theta. Any amount will help, and pledges can be spread out over a five-year period. Thank you for all your help along the way. It's been a wonderful journey with more excitement to come.
