Lloyd Marshall, 27, was arrested on Dumosa Avenue after he reportedly admitted to cutting a Nicholas Porter, 19, and a 17-year-old girl on Belle Mill Road Monday, said a sheriff's press release. See TEEN, page 9A Walmart shoplifting Men caught in tried to walk out with some $2,000 in electronics and merchandise in shopping carts at Walmart Sunday morning. Security officers at the store watched the crime in progress all before 5 a.m. as the three men gathered the merchandise into shop- ping carts and pushed them to the front of the store, a Red Bluff Police press release said. Officers nabbed the suspects just outside the front of the store in their get- away car, a 2008 Kia. Anthony Richard McIn- tire, 32, and Shane Christo- pher Phipps, 37, both of Redding, and Tyler Shaver, 20, were arrested at the store. Three men reportedly release said. License plate numbers on the vehicle were covered with masking tape. Officers pulled over the Kia in the parking lot as it pulled near the doors, the release said. Phipps and McIntire were arrested with- out incident. Shaver was arrested later when he left the store and tried to blend in with store employees who were taking a break outside, the release said. Shaver stayed inside the store while McIntire and Phipps went for the car, the Phipps and McIntire were each charged with con- spiracy to commit a crime and second degree burglary and booked into Tehama County Jail. Bail was set at $100,000 each. Shaver was released pending further investigation into similar crimes in other jurisdictions, the release said. Police are looking into connections between the arrested suspects and other similar cases at the Red Bluff Walmart since Janu- ary, the release said. "It's a chance for those who have adopted dogs to See FURRY, page 9A Jobless rate remains high By JULIE ZEEB DN Staff Writer The Tehama County unemployment remains high at 16.1 percent, but the county has dropped one position, sitting at 40 out of 58 counties ranked. According to numbers released by the Employment Development Department, Tehama County sits just below the 16.2 percent of March 2011. The final rate for February is 15.6 percent. Glenn County, ranking 48 at 17.7 percent is the only local county at a higher rate than Tehama. Butte County is the lowest ranking at 30 with 13.8 percent unemployment, followed by Shasta County, ranking 36 with 15 percent unemployment. The five highest counties are all at 20 percent or above with Colusa and Imperial counties tied at 57 with 26.2 percent unemployment. Sutter County, 56 at 21 percent; Merced County, 55 at 20.2 percent; and Trinity County, 54 at 20 percent, round out the top three.
