Situated in the heart of Fayetteville shopping and dining at the corner of McPherson Church and Sycamore Dairy roads, it's a break from big-box stores. Each of these businesses began at the grassroots. Here are their stories: Pampering begins at Great Paws. You may know her as the pet groomer on wheels, now Vonda Duer has put down roots. Duer teamed up with fellow groomer Lucia McLean to open a complete pet spa. Now, with help from Duer's grown daughters, Great Paws offers grooming on the go and the perks of a gleaming new spa, perks like pet massage and aromatherapy. From the boardwalks of California to the beer halls of Germany, Will Lewis has collected some of the world's best treats. He spent 10 years opening Hooter's restaurants across the country and overseas. Now he has his own place across the street from, you guessed it, Fayetteville's original Hooter's. Though he says he is in chicken wing withdrawal, you won't find big-screen TVs or scantily- clad waitresses here.
