PAGE A2 CALENDAR By Julie Zeeb jzeeb@redbluffdailynews.com @DN_Zeeb on Twitter RED BLUFF A Harker Heights, Texas man was arrested Monday evening on suspicion of driv- ing under the influence of alcohol in a two-vehi- cle collision on State Route 99E that resulted in major injuries and blocked the highway. The head-on collision between a white 2015 Nissan and a silver 1997 Toyota was reported at 5:28 p.m. on 99E north of Childs Avenue with three persons involved, including drivers Chris- tian Hall, 23, of Harker Heights, Texas and Paula Angel, 65, of Redding, and Ron Angel, 58, of Red- ding, who was a passenger in Paula Angel's ve- hicle. An off-duty Red Bluff Police officer reported the incident and an off-duty Cal Fire employee was on seen at the time of report, according to the California Highway Patrol website. Paula Angel was flown to Enloe Medical Cen- ter in Chico with major injuries while Ron An- gel and Hall were taken by ambulance to Enloe with moderate injuries. Hall was arrested and then released to the hos- pital for treatment. Hall was driving north on 99E about 65 mph as Angel was driving south on 99E about 55 mph at the time of the collision, according to a CHP re- lease. Hall allowed his Nissan to drift left, caus- ing it to enter directly into the path of Angel and the vehicles collided. All parties were wearing seat belts and both ve- hicles had air bags that deployed in the collision. The highway was closed for about an hour and a half in both directions. It was re-opened after the road was cleared of vehicles and debris. One lane traffic-control with the southbound lane was put in place about 6:54 p.m., accord- ing to the Tehama County Sheriff's Department log. As of 5:57 p.m., emergency personnel were still trying to extricate one person from a vehi- cle that was still blocking part of 99, which had been completely blocked in both north and south- bound lanes. Traffic was diverted around 6 p.m. and vehi- cles were sent to 68th Avenue. By Heather Hoelscher hhoelscher@redbluffdailynews.com @DN_Heather on Twitter RED BLUFF The 95th annual Red Bluff Round-Up is coming in April and Green Waste of Tehama is showing its support for the three-day rodeo event with a promotional Round-Up deco- rated truck that debuted Monday at the Tehama District Fairground. Amanda Garrett, district manager of Green Waste, and James Miller, general manager of the Red Bluff Round-Up Association, met to discuss sponsorship ideas a few months ago, and the idea and design of the truck evolved from there, Garrett said. Garrett and Miller worked together on the design for the waste truck, which features the Red Bluff Round- Up logo and photographs from the 2015 Round-Up. This is the first time the association has done a promotion like this, Miller said. It took about three months for the entire project to come together, includ- ing the design and wrapping of the im- ages on the outside of the Green Waste truck, Garrett said. President of the Red Bluff Round- Up Association John Trede mentioned that tickets are going faster than the association could have ever expected. The 2016 Round-Up will be held April 15-17 at the Tehama District Fairground. Tickets are available on- line and at the Round-Up office at the fairground. The new online ticket system al- lows for patrons to choose where they would like to sit. The printed tickets are scanned, with a new ticket scan- ning system, at the door.
