The following defend- ants were sentenced in Tehama County Superior Court, according to the Te- hama County District At- torney's Office: RecentState/Local Prison Commitments: People vs. John Lee Farmer, Burglary, Vandal- ism, Grand Theft Brief history: The Defen- dant stripped copper wire from a recently vacated in- dustrial building. His ac- tions caused arcing which caused extensive dam- age and severely injured him. In another case De- fendant broke into a com- mercial building stealing a welder and associated supplies. The Defendant also stole wire stored in a horse trailer. Sentenced to 7 years 4 months State Prison. People vs. Nicole Marie Pelaiz, Failing to Register as a Sex Offender Brief history: Defen- dant was to register as a Sex Offender in December of 2015, she failed to do so saying she forgot. Sentenced to 16 months State Prison. People vs. Dillon Chris- topher McFadyen, Evading an Officer Brief history: When an officer attempted to pull defendant over for a minor traffic offense, he took off on his motorcycle hitting speeds in excess of 95 mph, running stop signs before he finally stopped. Sentenced to 2 years State Prison People vs. Jeffery Jack Sargent, Possession for Sale of a Controlled Substance and Felon in Possession of a Firearm Brief history: A parole search of defendant's home in Manton found metham- phetamine materials indi- cating sales and numerous firearms. The Defendant was a convicted felon. Sentenced to 6 years State Prison People vs. Kari April Be- atty, Possession of Drugs in Camp, Bringing Contra- band Into Jail, Failure to appear Brief history: While serving a sentence, the de- fendant was found in pos- session of a syringe con- taining methamphet- amine. The Defendant had home brewed alcohol while in County Jail and in an- other case, she failed to ap- pear for a scheduled court appearance. Sentenced to 4 years 4 months State Prison People vs. Brenda Evelyn Cooley, DUI Causing Injury Brief history: While un- der the influence of narcot- ics, defendant drove her ve- hicle into the rear of a car in the process of making a legal turn. The driver of the other vehicle was injured. The Defendant had a prior strike conviction. Sentenced to 6 years State Prison People vs. Javier Men- doza Garcia, Unlawful Firearm Activity, Corporal Injury to Spouse, Assault With a Deadly Weapon Brief history: The Defen- dant was prohibited from possessing firearms as a result of a prior convic- tion, officers responded to a report of a domestic dis- turbance at his home and found he had a loaded pis- tol in a safe. During a dis- pute, the defendant struck his girlfriend, pulled her by the hair and pushed her to the ground. In another case, Defendant stabbed a victim during an alterca- tion at a bar. Sentenced to 4 years 8 months State Prison Recent County Jail Commitments People vs. Griffin James Sumpter, Stalking, Crimi- nal Threats Brief history: After breaking up with his girl- friend, the Defendant con- tinuously sent her threat- ening text messages, fol- lowed her home, accosted her physically and threat- ened her and her family. Sentenced to 5 years pro- bation, 180 days County Jail with 4 years 8 months State Prison suspended People vs. Nichols John Costa, Burglary, Resisting Executive Officer Brief history: The Defen- dant was caught by an em- ployee stealing office sup- plies from the Training Center. Officers arrived and saw him running away. Of- ficers responded to a report of a woman being battered, the defendant lunged at and struck one of them. Sentenced to 210 days county jail. People vs. Trevor Corey Carney, Carrying a Dirk or Dagger Brief history: During a consensual encounter with police, the defendant was found to have a home-made knife in his pocket. Sentenced to 120 days county jail. People vs. Robert An- thony Nyholt, Transporta- tion of a Controlled Sub- stance Brief history: The Defen- dant was pulled over for a traffic violation and had 6 grams of methamphet- amine. Sentenced to 270 days county jail with 5 years probation and 10 years 8 months prison suspended. People vs. Ethan Douglas Winter, Burglary, Resisting Arrest Brief history: The De- fendant was caught by vic- tim stealing property from his barn, when deputies ar- rived, the defendant strug- gled with them when he was taken into custody. Sentenced to 90 days county jail. People vs. Joshua Mi- chael Zoland, Battery by Gassing Brief history: While an inmate at the Tehama County Jail, defendant threw excrement at a cor- rectional officer. Sentenced to 180 days county jail, 5 years pro- bation with 1 year state prison suspended. People vs. Andrew Mikeal Aguilar, Posses- sion of a Billy Club, Gang Activity Brief history: After a traffic stop, the defendant who was wearing gang related clothing and ac- knowledged being a gang member was found to be in possession of an axe han- dle. Sentenced to 60 days county jail. People vs. Christina Vi- olet Brown, Aid by Misrep- resentation Brief history: While re- ceiving CalWorks and Cal- Fresh, defendant failed to report income to the Wel- fare Department. Sentenced to 90 days county jail. Upcoming Court Dates - Trials, Preliminary Hearings (PX) & Pre Trial Conferences (PTC): People vs. Quentin Ray Bealer, Murder. Brief history: The De- fendant was arrested and charged with the Murder of a 14 year old victim who had been reported missing when she never returned home from School. Officers located the victim's body two days later. Motions: March 3, at 1:30 pm at Tehama Supe- rior Court, Department 2 TBJ: April 4, at 9 am in Sacramento Superior Court People vs. Travis John Kilburger, Domestic Vio- lence with a Special Alle- gation Brief history: Defendant plead guilty to Domestic Violence with a Special Al- legation Pursuant to Great Bodily Injury During Do- mestic Violence and Ter- rorist Threats with a Spe- cial Allegation pursuant to Use of a Firearm and a vi- olation of False Imprison- ment. SENTENCING: Contin- ued to April 12, at 1 pm in Department 1 People vs. Poly Duenas Sanchez, Lucio Nenecia Madera, Gabino Madera, Murder with Special Alle- gation Personal and Inten- tional Discharge of a Fire- arm, GBI, Conspiracy to Commit a Crime with Spe- cial Allegation Personal and Intentional Discharge of a Firearm, GBI. Brief history: The Vic- tim met with the three De- fendants regarding money that was allegedly owed to the victim. During this confrontation the victim was chased down and shot twice with a shotgun. The victim died as a result of his injuries. TBJ: March 2, 2016 at 1:30 pm (Department to be determined) People vs. Alan Duane Doulphus Jr., Chase Alan Doulphus: Murder, spe- cial allegation felony mur- der, personal and inten- tional, use of a firearm, as- sault with a firearm, false imprisonment by violence, transportation of mari- juana. Brief history: The de- fendants went to a res- idence that contained a marijuana grow. The de- fendants confronted the victim and two other men who were at the residence and ordered them to the ground at gunpoint. The defendants proceeded to tie up the victim and the two men with zip ties and duct tape. The victim was able to free himself and at- tempt to flee the residence but was shot several times by the armed defendants. The victim eventually suc- cumbed to his injuries. Defendant's vehicle was located a short time later and a vehicle pursuit fol- lowed. Defendant's were eventually apprehended and taken into custody. Inside the vehicle officers located a large amount of marijuana. TBJ: February 24, at 1:30 pm (Department to be de- termined) People vs. John Noonkester, Willful, De- liberate and Premeditated Murder with Special Alle- gation, Personal and Inten- tional Discharge of a Fire- arm, GBI (2 counts); At- tempt: Willful, Deliberate and Premeditated Murder with Special Allegation, Personal and Intentional Discharge of a Firearm, GBI. Brief history: The Defen- dant is charged with shoot- ing and killing his ex-wife and her father, and shoot- ing a bystander. Arraignment on Infor- mation: February 22, at 1:15 pm in Department 3 People vs. William Fos- ter, Derek Hale, Garrett Le- nardo, Zachary Thornton and Robert Beaugrand, at- tempted murder Brief history: What be- gan as a marijuana deal re- sulted in kidnapping, rob- bery and one individual with a gunshot wound. PTC: February 22, at 1:15 pm in Department 3 People vs. David Hast- ings, Grand Theft of Per- sonal Property; First De- gree Residential Burglary; Possession of Burglar's Tools; First Degree Resi- dential Burglary, 4 counts; Grand Theft of Personal Property, 3 counts; Grand Theft; Identity Theft, 2 counts; Possession of a Firearm by a Felon; Pos- session of Ammunition; Receiving Stolen Property, 9 counts; Petty Theft. Brief history: The vic- tim's vehicle was broken into and several personal items were stolen includ- ing a wallet. The following day, the victim's bank ac- count was hit for $1,300. It was later determined that Defendant's cell phone bill had been paid with the victim's checking account. A separate victim's home was burglarized while on vacation. Neighbors had taken pictures of the ve- hicle and the driver that was at the home. While officers contacted the De- fendant on other matters, they discovered several of the victim's stolen items within the Defendant's vehicle. The Defendant was the suspect in vari- ous burglaries within the area. Several items of sto- len property were found on the Defendant's person while being contacted in regards to other cases. Sentencing Continued: February 29, at 10 am in Department 1 People vs. Roberta Draper (12 counts) Cruelty to an animal Brief history: The De- fendant is currently on probation in a prior multi- count cruelty to animal case. One of the terms of her probation was that she is no possess animals. A probation search was con- ducted at her residence and law enforcement lo- cated dogs, geese, guinea hens and turkeys. One of the dogs was deceased, while some of the other an- imals appeared to be mal- nourished, dehydrated, and in poor health. The Defendant admitted that all the animals found be- longed to her.
